Sri Krishnadevaraya Tomb - Cemetery in Anegundi - Koppal, India

Though it is popularly called the tomb of Krishnadevaraya , there is no solid evidence at all to back it . Even the ASI Signboard just names it the 64 Pillared Mantapa . It must have served some other purpose like shelter for travelers or venue for some festivals etc because it looks merely functional without any artistic decorations . Surroundings are not clean .

Need a lot of improvement as it's bit no hygiene place seems like abandoned. But river side is plus point and boating gives awesome feeling. I personally suggest go for boating and see other side of temple where you can visit Sri Vyasarayaand his follower's tomb. And peaceful river flow

Historically this place is so important since KDR is highly decorated emperor from vijayanagara empire, but its very hard to see his tomb in such a bad place. Path leading to his tomb is so dirty and sorrounded by slum, definitely this place is encroached by scavage villegers, I WO.der why government is so hesitant to take actions against encroachers, may be that's because of fear of loosing votes, dirty politics and

There is no historical evidence to suggest that this is indeed Raja Krushnadevaraya's tomb, but the grandness of the structure suggests that it must be resting place of someone very important. The condition of this place was very bad when I was here. It is pretty much neglected, but the structure is still in good shape after restoration.

It is very sacred place which has history. It is in the midst of Tungabadra river. You have to cross the river bare foot to reach the Tomb place. It is very serene, beautiful and calm place. The place looks like one mantapa. You cannot see the Tomb on the surface as it is beneath the ground. We were explained that Krishnadevaraya ash was dispersed in Tungabadra river and one of the urns was buried in the Tomb. When you visit Hampi it is one of the place in your must visit list.

The 64 pillar mantap at Tungabahdra river in Anegundi is Krishnadevaraya's tomb. But there is no inscription, that it is Krishnadevaraya's tomb. Krishnadevaraya reigned from 1509-30 as the 3rd ruler of the Tuluva dynasty. Anegundi was the first capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. It also believed to have been the ancient kingdom of Kishkindha during the time of Ramayana. It has a fort with many gates, a Durga temple & tombs near the fort entrance. Vijayanagar kings used to pray before every battle at the nearby Durga temple & then visit Pampa Sarovar & Laxmi temple. Krishnadevaraya's Rajguru Vyasaraja Swami's tombs is at Navabrindavan, a few metres away from this location

One of the best...I couldn't go close as the water level was high...but enjoyed a beautiful sunset
