Ancient Shiva Temple. It's unique feature is Devendra standing behind the Shiva Linga. There is an idol of Kubera also within the garbha gudi. Architecture is different from other temples in Tamil Nadu but is excellent. It is located on the road opposite to main gopuram of Ekambareshwarar Temple. Most people miss it as they are not aware of this temple. Very well maintained .

(27.08.2022 Saturday), quite and very calm temple. We reached by 11 am, by that time main Shrine in closed but main gate is open. When asked to a person who cleans the temple replied, that the priest (Gurukal) visit in the morning, perform Puja and locks the Shrine and goes away; no timing and no idea about his visit. His contact number is also unavailable. Is this way to function a famous temple?? People who is ill especially with unknown fever pray the God Shiva of this temple. After recovery the come bare body and have a bath from the temple well and also fetch water for abshikam. Outside gate parking. No Chappal stand. Note: NOT accessible.

aangkilttil elllutuvtrrku mnnnnnnikkvum. After having some wonderful time in Ekambareswarar temple, i came to this temple, since this was also on the must visit temple. Got to know this temple when i was reading something interesting in the internet. It seems Kanchi Maha Periyava was giving darshan to his devotees, but one of his known devotee came infront of him and stood quiet, Periyava understood that something was wrong, hence he told him to wait with just a sign of his hand. The devotee stood in the corner as instructed by Kanchi Maha Periyava. Once all the other devotees were gone, he called this known devotee and asked what happened as to what was the problem. The devotee told him that he was suffering from high fever. Kanchi Maha Periyava, kept quiet for few minutes, then asked the devotee whether he visited the Jurahareswarar Temple, the devotee said no. Immediately Kanchi Maha Periyava got up and told the devotee to come along with him, and they both came to this temple. From that time i was eager to visit this temple. Second reason was i saw the pictures of this temple on the net, and decided to visit this temple for sure, since it was so beautiful to look at the photos. Did visit it this time, but the temple was kind of semi closed since repair work was going on and the temple was getting ready for kumbhabhishegam. Sad the temple is under ASI control. But glad to see that they have made a special lingam made out of Athi tree bark, and poojas are done for this lingam. Another beautiful feature is the gopuram (vimanam), which is eliptical in shape similar like the Lord Uthara Ranganathar Swamy temple in Pallikonda. The whole temple is built on a pedastal, just like the shiva temple in porur. Temple faces east. Lord faces east, rajagopuram faces east, no kodimaram. A must visit temple if you are in Kanchipuram.

It was built by the Pallavas in the early 8th century CE. It is famous for its splendid vimana. The temple is classified as one of the minor shrines of Kanchipuram, but should not be missed due to its historical significance and for its architectural marvel. was built by Pallava King Narasimhavarman II (Rajasimhan) in the early 8th century CE, who ruled from 695.C.E - 728.C.E

This is another old temple maintained by ASI. At least a 1000 year old. Also the architecture of this temple is different from other temples in Kanchipuram. The main temple is in circular structure. The architecture is somewhat similar to those temples in Karnataka. This is close to Ekambaranathar and people tend to miss this temple as this is not a famous one and happens to be small as well. But one should visit this for the ancient architecture at least. No parking , only street parking available. Usually not crowded. In Shiva Kanchi.

People can realise the silent temple inside environment, the place which gives good and pleasant mind while visiting the temple,. It's so awesome . One of the best divine place in kanchipuram.
