Sri Gneeliwaaneshwarar Temple, Padal Petra Temple - Featured Reviews (3231)
Temple is really fantastic. We get good the good divine feel that are usually felt at really big temples. Everything is very much organized here. In case of any doubts, just ask any of the people working there. Everybody are so helpful and patient. The temple is surprisingly big when compared to the surrounding areas. One drawbck are the roads. All the roads leading to this temple are very very poor.
Sri Gneeliwaneshwarar temple is located at 11 km from samayapuram. Direct bus is available from chatram bus stand. Ample parking space is available. The temple is famous for marriage related pariharam known as kalvazhai pariharam. It is believed that people who have dosham for marriage come here and do the pariharam. The ticket is Rs800. It is to be collected at the entrance of main temple. There are three shrines inside the temple. One is for Yeman, sivan and amman. First go to yeman temple & then sivan and amman temple. One suggestion, mats are to provided at the periphery of temple. As there are more stones in the walking path.
Pooja was executed very well. People with issues with the horoscope regarding marriage should visit this divine place. The atmosphere is amazing with peaceful environment. However, this time of the year it's too hot and humid so please keep yourselves properly hydrated and prepared for it!
It's ancient Lord Siva temple. I first visited in 2011, after that few times. It's one of the oldest temples in this region. The temple is approximately 20 km from Trichy, from Mananachanallur, and it's 8 km. The temple is huge, two Prakarams inside and one outside. The Lord is self manifested, and he is known as Sri Gneenivaleshwar and his consort is Lord Visalakshi. There is a special temple for Yamadharma, who is worshipping Miruthunjeya with his consort. In first Prakaram, you have temple for Dakshinamoorthi, Vana Durga, Second Prakaram has Sapthakanyas, Maha Vishnu, Ganapathy, Murugan with Consorts, Kalvalai, Sri Chakram, Sri Visalakshi and Kala Bhairava. The third Prakaram has Mirthunjeya with Consort and Yamadharma. The presence of Navagraha can't be seen as the temple is more than 1500 year old, you may see Navagraha in the form of 9 small holes near temple flag. Must visit temple.
As my josiyar suggested, went to this temple to do some pariharam pooja. If you are going to this temple from chennai, take the trichy bus and reach samayapuram no1 toll gate(5hrs journey). From there you have to walk 150m by crossing the NH road and take Thirupanjali bus from the bus stand. Bus fare cost arround 11 per head. Final stop is Sri Gneeliwaaneshwarar temple. It will take max 2 hrs to complete the pooja and pariharams. You can find public toilets outside the temple and it was not well maintained.
It's a famous temple. Here parikara for marriage dosham will be performed. Rs 700 will be collected for Pooja.
Sri Gneelivaneshwarar Shiva temple in Thirupainjeeli is about 20 kms from Trichy on the Thuraiyur side. About 4 kms west from the main highway. Small swayambu lingam in the main sanctum. Shri Visalakshi Amman (Neelnedungan Nayaki) in seperate sannidhi. The temple is very popular parikara sthalam for marriage, health. Seperate temple for Lord Shiva, Parvathi Amman and Lord Murugan with Yemadharman (Adikaravallavar) on their feet. Special parikara pujas here. More than1000 years old, padal petra sthalam. Grand Gopuram is unfinished.
