The ride to Dhanushkodi was one of THE ride of my life. We got to see what we went there for..the ruins of yesteryear and a serene beach with crystal clear water. If you are a history lover do visit this place. The place is in a state where the gods have forgotten about it. It is all water everywhere and it is a place where there are no basic amenities. There was an old church and an elevated railway station which has stood all odds.
In 1964 Due to the cyclone that place was destroyed.First of all Dhanushkodi was City. That entire dhanushkodi city and Buildings Situated there fully Sank under water.Escaped people and their family members still living there. One Uncle told that story and he is living there only near that old Dhanushkodi Railway station.
Main things south government don't want to maintain any haritage site that's the sad part
Nice beach, beautiful scene. Awsome place to visit.
Ramasethu constructed stones available still we can see at Danushkodi
Beautiful place to sea lovers. Can see Windmills on Srilanka coast here. Charging Rs.20 for telescopic view per person for few seconds.
It was a great place to visit but not anymore. After the government announced it as a tourist spot and built infrastructure and road this became a causal place. No real feel of what it was. They should have been protected the place as it was and allowed few numbers of people every day. Now its full of shops and plastic all around. Totally destroyed the real beauty of the place.
Can't sea anything interesting at present... All the Rama Setu stuff went to the history.... Beautiful landscape and a really peaceful sea beach... Some people come and enjoy with their family member, some people do their hindu religious stuff for their dear ones peace of soul after their death...

Quite beautiful and serene beach. It is quite crowded towards the end of the road, but it is worth spending time to see either the sunrise or sunset along with your family. The weather here can be really harsh during the daytime, so it is recommende
Nice stretch of 7kms beach on either side of the road. Very pleasant views of sunset. The last point is a circular platform which will be very crowded, especially on weekends. While reviews say the place closed by 5PM, i think they are taking about
Dhanushkodi, in my point of view, is an enchanting destination that offers a mesmerizing blend of history, spirituality, and natural beauty. As I stood at the tip of this ghost town, I was captivated by the remnants of its glorious past. The dilapida
