One of the most brilliantly photogenic spots of Badami is the cluster of temples called The Bhutanatha Group
Situated at the base of a long wall of sandstone mountain , on a promontary by the expansive lake called Agasthya Tirtha. These temples date from 7th Century to 12th century and show various archictural styles
Just behind the group of structural temples is a series of rock cut bas relief images of deities on a boulder .
With blue water rippling in the full tank the Bhutanatha Group offers a mesmerising visual treat
Very Nice temple , Situated beside the lake .Must visit if you visit badami.
Some history about temple as below
The Bhutanatha group of temples are 7th to 12th century Hindu temples to the east of Agastya lake in Badami, Karnataka state, India. It consists of two subgroups - one called the East Bhutanatha group or Bhutanatha main group from 7th to 8th-century mostly in the Dravida architecture style; the other called the North Bhutanatha group or Mallikarjuna group from 11th to 12th-century mostly in the Nagara architecture. The former illustrates the Badami Chalukya architects, the latter along with the nearby Yellamma temple the Kalyani Chalukya architects.
