Sri Bharanikkavu Devi Temple - Hindu temple in Kollam - Kollam, India

Bharanikkavu Devi Temple is in Madannada, Kollam. It is not on the mainroad. This is our family deity (from my father's side). Big temple with lots of ground. The temple is visible from the trains traveling between Kollam and Trivandrum. Men have to remove their shirts before entering the temple. Parking space is available.

Great ambience and feel the energy. Annual festival during March- April every year. Meena bharani maholsavam is being conducted every year with the representation from 5 desams.

Bharanikkavu Devi Temple was around from the time my memories start. I was born after my parents was permanently settled in Madannada and I've been visiting Madan thampuran temple situated on the main road and the Devi temple, the idol which is facing towards Madan thampuran. The thottampattu around the time when the 42 day annual festival of the temple is celebrated has a nostalgic feel about it and brings back my childhood memories. It's a place where you can blindly choose to some down.

One of the largest temple in kollam in terms of area and popularity. Actor Suresh Gopi's Family Temple. He inaugurates the festival in final day in the ground.
