Sri Annamalaiyar Residency - Hotel in Vellore - Vellore, India

I had the worst experience at Annamalaiyar residency. I booked the hall for my wife's baby shower and the food was absolutely terrible. The AC was not working and the food was burnt. The chapatis were hard even after they charged 250 rs per leaf. The staff was also very irresponsible and did not respond to my complaints. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Here are some of the specific problems I had: The AC was not working, so it was very hot and humid in the party hall. This made it difficult for people to enjoy themselves and made the food even worse. The food was burnt and tasted terrible. The chaptis were hard and the vegetables were overcooked. and they even provided unordered items. The staff was very rude and did not respond to my complaints. I asked them to turn on the AC and to bring me some new food, but they did not do anything. Overall, I had a very negative experience at Annamalaiyar residency. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Total waste of money. Here are some other things to consider before booking a party at Annamalaiyar residency: The price is very high for what you get. The food is not good. The staff are irresponsible. The AC does not work. I would not recommend any one who is looking for a party hall.

The tariff for an AC double room is three thousand rupees per day. at such a price, at least some basic facilities should be there. there is no wifi, no intercom, not even a landline in room. if you want to talk to the reception, you have to call using your mobile phone. if we need tea, a hotel staff will first come to the room and take money to buy tea from outside, pathetic! There is no restaurant and, even if we bring food from outside, they don't give cutlery. most of the time there will be only Tamil speaking staff available and it is such a pain to make them understand what we want to say. had it not been situated at such a prime location, they don't deserve even 500 rupees per day.

One of the worstest hotel...please don't do any functions over here...dirty place ...they may say that they have ac ...but none works .....liars!! The quality of the food is so sickkk ...the hospitality is the worst !!! Pls pls pls don't do any functions over here ....there is no zero rating .. they deserve less than that .....

The staff was very helpful, even the hotel rooms are spacious and good. It's worth the visit.

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in! Dirty rooms. No towels. No toiletries. Flush does not work. Water leakage in bathroom. Sponge bed resulting in backache! No intercom to call reception. They give mobile number which nobody picks up. NEVER stay here. Nothing but PERIL!

unfortunately there is no rating lesser than this. room cleaning is horrible. we had to tell them every time for the room cleaning. No one bothered for a room cleaning of the guests. terrible hotel! Never ever select this hotel and spare yourself from misery. No drinking water available, no towel/bedsheet changing available; no toiletries available; poor restaurant and dining facility; terrible staffs with huge language barrier, very poor response to problems of customers and residence and many more. No laundry pickup and delivery from/to room. so, in a nutshell, the hotel has very poor staff with zero hygiene sense. Thank You.

Where to start? The check in time is actually 1pm and not 12pm hence, you have to wait for one hour. I came to Vellore for my father's treatment and had to stay for a month hence I booked this for two weeks - since we had almost 8 luggages. While checking in, I was informed that the entire hotel will be booked on 7th July and I have to go search other places. I somehow negotiated and argued before getting to stay entirely. Restaurant doesn't have close to 75% of the menu which they offer as food services and it's all time based. After 11am, you wouldn't get any dish like Dosa, Idli etc. You have to order their version of North Indian dishes which is horrendous. It's best one orders through food delivery apps like Zomato or Swiggy. Whenever there's a problem, the people do not cooperate. Once my mother asked for roti from the room, the room delivery boy came with rice and few other dishes. The boy couldn't even communicate since he didn't know English or Hindi. He only knew Tamil and neither of us could understand. At the end, we ended up wasting the food and ordering once again till the lunch came at around 5pm. Looks like the hotel management created this hotel for the purpose of local citizens only. There is a bar attached to the hotel. Few people visit the bar, as I've noticed. Never saw the bar full (between 5pm to closing time). They only have a few drinks to serve - there is nothing much to choose from. Closing time of the bar is 11pm but from 10:15pm - well 45 minutes before closing time. these people will come at your seat, and ask you to pay the bill. When you pay the bill, they shout loudly enough for the entire bar to know how much you've drunk (and the bar is dead silent, there's no loud music hence everyone around will clearly know what you're paying) and it's absolutely unprofessional. They have a smoking zone outside where we have to ask for matchsticks all the time. There is no lighter attached to string or pre arranged matchsticks. What's worse? Everyone - from room service boys to ones at the reception desk keep asking "Checkout?", "Checkout?". After staying for one week, one of the room service boys explicitly asked me "When will you check out?" THEY JUST DON'T WANT YOU TO STAY THERE Rooms were large, spacious and clean though and the one point I've given is solely for that.

An sub par hotel experience I have stayed in your hotel two to three times and planned to stay here atleast for the next two trips (preplanned).My experience at this hotel for the stay(Feb 25 - Feb 26) has been sub-par at most even considering the covid scenario. Allow me to detail my horrible experience. #The main bed in the deluxe room is broken ( I haven't checked the room before based on the misplaced trust on my behalf on the hotel) #The additional beds given ( after minimum 1 hr & with repeated trips to the reception ) by the hotel were broken too (2 beds broken out of 3 provided).I had come to conclusion that sleeping on the floor is safer than sleeping on one of your beds (I think an hotelier wouldn't get an bigger insult than an paying guest sleeping in the floor ) #Only some of the complementary toiletries were provided that too with reminders to reception since you don't have much stock apparently. #Your other Furniture like side tables,dustbin,wardrobe to name a few were broken too. #You also have a mosquito problem apparently. #Finally,I have travelled all over India and stayed in some of the cheapest hotels and I have yet to see this much dumb mistake of endangering both guest and staff safety by placing the stabilizer of AC in the restroom that too an wet toilet.Attached image for your reference.
