Well maintained excellent ancient shiva temples heard from Gurukul that saint agathiar worshiped in this temple. And shiva lingam is more than 1000 yrs old Om namah shivaya.

A small temple, though fairly old. It is vang on the main road. Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi are the main deities, though Ganesha, Muruga, the Navagrahas, Nandi and a few others like Bhairava find a place here. The temple gets its name from rishi Agasthya who is said to have worshipped Lord Shiva here.
