Soulitude in the Himalayas - Hotel in Ramgarh, Gagar - Nainital, India

The property is situated at altitude of 7000ft and is unaffected by the harsh summers. Even on a sunny day it is comfortable to walk around. It is tastefully done up and equally maintained. Great hospitality, friendly staff and soulful food makes up for a perfect vacation. We booked up a 3 bedroom cottage with huge private deck and lobby and spend our evenings on the deck enjoying the cool breeze. Each room is designed to allow plenty of daylight and ventilation is quite good, which keeps them fresh throughout the day. Barbeque dinner hosted in the garden was an awesome experience, wish they just had a better music system to accompany the wonderful evening experience.

Beautiful Place. Close to nature. Surrounded by clouds. Total Serenity and peace 24 hours of the day. Strongly recommended as a go to place. We drove 8 hours from our home to reach here. 100% worth it experience. Very well maintained property even though it's almost 20 yrs old. The interiors in wooden look give a very nice feel. The cool, cloudy and sunny weather kept changing the mood throughout the day. The food was very much home like and the chef was ready to customize the menu and taste as required. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner for all 3 days at the resort only. For every meal the staff member shared the proposed menu with us will in advance and all changes to the same were always welcome and executed. The highlight of all the desserts was their homemade ice cream. Rest all North Indian food was nice & tasty. Highly appreciate the policy of NOT SERVING ALCOHOLIC DRINKS in today's times. It's a significant sacrifice on the revenue. But helps to keep the "FAMILY PLACE" tag intact. The common sitting area is also very well designed and maintained. Dining Area is small but well designed considering there are just 11 rooms to cater to. Overall staff was very courteous, polite and prompt. Right from the main gate, reception, house keeping, Room service till restaurant. We even had to visit the local hospital and 1 staff member specially went with us. The rooms also had a very nice aroma when we entered. Bathrooms were very neat and clean. All the top floor rooms had a partial glass roof for star gazing, which was really nice. Our cottage had a common sitting area on 1st floor where the whole roof was in glass. That was the best part of our cottage. It was the fixed venue for all our morning tea & coffee sessions. Nice collection of books kept there to get yourself engrossed in. Some suggestions for improvements - 1. Bathroom glass partition was 50%, rest 50% was open, it could be covered with simple curtain to avoid water splashing outside. 2. The doors and windows in rooms and common sitting area, were very tight. They need servicing and also some places the mesh was damaged. 3. The Hot water supply initially took a lot of time at the basin, hence lot of cold water wasted. Something could be done about it. 4. The TV should we converted into a smart TV after its the time of OTTs. 5. Some on call services like foot / body massage should be made available as everyone loves a relaxing massage in such a beautiful place, close to nature. Scope for Improvements is always there. Amazing service ,very cooperative staff. We celebrated my grandmother's birthday here. They arranged a cake ,a bonfire and decorated their room beautifully. We stayed at nirvana suite ,the room was amazing .

Absolutely wonderful experience. Great hospitality. Very friendly staff. The rooms have superb views and are well equipped and very comfortable The food was great with lots of variety. The staff organized very nice excursions to suit our family. It was a very enjoyable and relaxing experience

Super amazing location at the hill top with exceptional service and hospitality. A sheer treat for the city-zens to stay in the lap of nature, enjoy the sunrise view from the room, spend time near the fireside, indulge in star gazing at night and treat themselves to yummy food across cuisines. Thank you team for a beautiful stay accompanied by numerous memories for us to take back.

One word: Awesome. Wonderful place, amazing views, awesome food and incredible hospitality. The Himalayan range views from our room's big window were simply breathtaking. The resort is best to get away from hustle of the city and just relax amidst nature. Food, though not an elaborate menu, was really great, with chefs willing to accommodate our requests (with two kids, we had a few). Great collection of books, board games and outdoor games made the stay a pleasure for kids too. With the steep price, we were a little concerned if it will be worth it, but it sure was. Only negative, it can be a little tricky to find it, as google maps take you to spot where there's nothing... The resort is on a steep path down a few meters ahead of that spot. Thankfully, a representative from the resort was waiting for us on the main road (they knew of this shorcoming, and had asked us for our car make/number), and guided us, else would have been difficult.

Outstanding location, rooms and service. We stayed in a cottage with 3 rooms (as we were 3 families), with a lounge, dining area, kitchenette and open terrace. They arranged for bon fire also on 2 evenings, which was very comfortable and everyone enjoyed!

Heaven. This is the only word that can describe the beauty, serenity and the absolute piece of gem that this place is. It is true when they say that pahadi people are the best host. Amazing food and amazing hospitality with a super supportive staff. I would give anything to be able to go again and again!
