Soul Kitchen Restaurant - North Eastern Indian restaurant in Shillong - East Khasi Hills, India

we were on a road trip and for lunch we were searching for a north indian restaurant near golf link and found this. we ordered veg pulao, butter chicken and butter naan. it was really tasty. they serve pani puri/puchka and softy too. street parking only.

The staffs were friendly and attentive. Definitely worth visiting at affordable price. Garlic Butter Naan & Chicken Bharta ~ in the pics. Far away from the madding crowd.

Thali was good. Taste was more like north Indian than the local taste. The interiors are nicely done. Washrooms are very clean. There was also a place for live music but it was not there when we visited.

We had the fried rice and chicken in black bean sauce and finished with lemon pie for lunch on a Sunday. I had tremendous stomach ache and indigestion that night. So we are probably not going there again. Follow up: In response to the restaurants reply, that day the food from Soul Kitchen was the only outside food that I had eaten. I was in agony with stomach ache for more than 3 hours that night. And how do I know for sure that it was that food you ask? Well, since I had indigestion, the fried rice definitely made its presence felt. Plus the restaurant was not very hygienic, there were lots and lots of flies everywhere. Now in a rainy place flies are expected. But for a food joint they have to be careful about flies sitting everywhere, invest in an insect zapper maybe. We were really grateful to them for feeding us on a Sunday when all other restaurants were closed. But the repercussions really were bad. I expect an apology as a customer rather than a refuting of my google review as I have given an honest review with no vested interest whatsoever!

A year ago I visited this restaurant and i personally had a great time... However, I recently visited and honestly I disliked everything they served. The chicken wonton seemed like they just stuffed in frozen chicken, the egg chichen roll was super oily and even while biting into it I could feel the oil... The waiters seemed so not friendly.... Overall it was not a pleasant experience

It's a small, warm and cosy place.The interior is beautiful. It has a space for karaoke and live music. There is a huge flatscreen TV where they show movies. However the atmosphere is quite dull as there is no music. I suggest they play music instead of movies on the flatscreen as most people are busy eating or chatting and no one really watches the movie. The food is quite good and it's cheaper than most restaurants and cafe's in Shillong.

Great food . Located right near the chowk , the restaurant is easy to find and serve you on time . We were 4 of us and total bill was well within our budget . Quantity of food was good

The unique cuisine under the supervision of the Chef Kashmiri Nath so tasty and yummy.... if you want to eat something different ...here is the right place... the enticing blends of traditional and modern styles of cooking will drive you crazy ... really drooling over.....
