Sorsan Wildlife Sanctuary - Wildlife refuge in Amalsara - Baran, India

Best time visit here in either extreme winters or in monsoon season . You can spot deers during morning and evening . This is the only wetland in hadoti region.

If people and local politics come together, this place can be turned into heaven without much effort. It has great potential to become another "taal-chapar" of rajasthan. But increasing encroachment and neglated by authorities, this amazing grassland is dying a slow death.

We went during July. Water was a little scarce in the stream that flows there. However, it is a good picnic spot if you like large expanses of trees and shrubs. If lucky, you may even spot some deers running

National Reserve Park Located 50 km from Kota is the Sorsan Wildlife Sanctuary. Popularly known as the Sorsan Grasslands, it is a 41 sq.km bird sanctuary which is home to scrubby vegetation, numerous water bodies and a vast variety of birds and animals. Visitors here can hope to catch a glimpse of orioles, quails, partridges, robins, weavers, greylag geese, common pochards, teals and pintails. Come winter and flocks of migrant birds such as warblers, flycatchers, larks, starlings and rosy pastors fly here. You can also spot animals such as black buck and gazelles.

Wildlife Protection Sorsan Sanctuary Distance : 45 Km Sorsan grassland, is surrounded by right bank main canal of the Chambal and the Parvan rivers which extends over 35 sq. kms., During monsoons, the grass and vegetative cover becomes an ideal habitat for Black Buck, Cheetal Sambhar, etc.Kashmir rollers can be seen in the month of October. Flocks of migratory lark, warbler, flycatcher, starling and rosy pastors arrive by October and stay till March. The main attraction for bird watchers at Sorsan is the Godawan.

It's a very nice sanctuary for animal just like cheetal, black dear blue cows.....etc wonderful......
