Somy Plaza ( formerly Somy Resort) - Resort hotel in Calangute, Saligao - North Goa, India

We've had a great time at Somy Plaza (Oct 2023). We travelled in a group of 8 adults and 4 kids. Initially we had a hard time getting the rooms on a single floor but we were accommodated in a different building the next day. Though the rooms were on 3rd floor (too much to climb) but didn't have a choice. This was our first trip with the whole family so didn't know such scenario would exist where the rooms would be far apart. Anyway, something to mention while booking. The rooms were cozy and spacious. There was a separate area for luggage, wardrobe and dressing. The rooms had a safe, mini fridge and a TV with fully loaded DTH pack. The washrooms had a hair dryer and all the utilities you'd need. The breakfast was well spread. A good mix of continental, north Indian and South Indian cuisine. We had a good time by the pool on multiple occasions. The pricing of the restaurant/bar is quite nominal, so no worries about a heavy bill. Lastly, the location is very comfortable. Just a few seconds walk to the main road. All amenities are available nearby.

Somy plaza in Goa Calangute our stay was really a memorable one. Paul Sir Mr Amul nd the staff was so friendly nd helpful. Our stay after Diwali was so Enjoyable nd Comfortable. Rooms were spacious clean nd well maintained . Overall View of the hotel was fantabulos . Greenery everywhere. area so calm nd soothing.variety of Items in bfast also yummy. Only room service needs lill improvement. Hotel location in the centre of calangute . went Calengute nd Baga Beach walking just 15 minutes away from Somy Would love to stay again in Somy resort if visit Goa in future. The rooms are nice and the front desk workers are kind but that's the only thing good about this place! Firstly , the room services are very slow! I called up to order some food and wanted to order some fish but the guy from the restaurant mentioned the price to me in such a way of speaking that he kinda presumed that I cannot afford the price which turned me off tbh. Have been to many hotels both in India and outside of India but never have I been told the price of an item on menu without asking for it. We asked for a cab early on but instead of booking us one they directed us to go outside the hotel and get one ourselves ! I mean what kind of hotel donot have a cab service available? Again about breakfast! I wanted to order breakfast as room service and it was clearly written on the menu that breakfast starts from 7:30 but the person again from the restaurant said breakfast is not available when i called around 7:50 am. And among the limited 6-7 breakfast items they didn't have many items like sausage or salami or bacon. Instead the restaurant guy was trying to scam me by saying that buffet is on and i can have that when i clearly wanted room service rather than a buffet! I mean why can they cook for a buffet breakfast but room service is unavailable! The location is good though and near to the city but i felt very uncomfortable in my whole stay because of the service! We ended up having breakfast in a vegetarian restaurant just outside the hotel and it was really delicious!

Beautiful property, great staff, superb food and wonderful location. It has all the basics right while delivering spot on service experience. The team was flexible enough to go one step ahead ensuring value offering for the customers. I will highly recommend my nears and dears so that they also get to enjoy one of the finest quality hospitality in Goa.

Superb rooms with living area, bed room and great location. Clean swimming pool with sun and awesome breakfast menu. Staying here for 6 days was a great experience Ok

Stay was more than average. Good swimming pool, good breakfast options. No AC or fan in the recreation room. Room service is bit on slower side. Parking is not onsite, there was no coordination between parking security guy and reception. Bit far from Calangute beach with approx 25 min walk.

Had a comfortable stay at Somy Plaza. Offered welcome drink on arrival. People at reception were friendly, especially Amul. He suggested few good restaurants for Goan thali, which we gave a try and at it was so good. Rooms were clean. Buffet breakfast at hotel was really good. Swimming pool was well maintained. One benefit was that, taxi stand is just outside the hotel, which made us comfortable in booking cabs. Overall it was wonderful stay at this hotel.
