Sobhaneswara Mahadeba Temple (shobhneshr deull) - Featured Reviews (44)
Jay shiv shankar, shiv tampleniali , having a big (brusava) statue here ,very nice and cool place to visit.soo many historical talk are here . I have visited here mote than 5time.
It's located few kilometre away from niali town. Located in a village environment but the surrounding place of temple is well maintained. The temple is old and the architecture seems like puri temple but in smaller size. A garden present next to the temple and one of the single wooden block is present next to that. Here the one of the idol of Lord Jagannath present along with ashoka chakra symbol which is absolutely amazing (if anyone visit there please try to find out). In the entrance a huge bull statue is there which is also a major attraction. If anyone planning a road trip in around includ it along with Lord mahadev temple.

Sobhaneswara Temple at Niali, Cuttack is a masterpiece of Eastern Ganga Dynasty under Prachi valley civilization. This temple dedicated to lord Shiva built in 12th century reign of Anangabhima Deva II (1190-1198AD) last part of this century. This temple has huge natamandap, Jagamohana assembly and similar parswadevata's such as Kartika, Ganesha, Parvati, the most attractive is it's ruch carvings on every wall of Jagamohana and main tower in which one can see the life cycle of a human evolution starting from the birth to the old age time. However an interesting story come out through its inscription that is located on eastern wall of the jagamohana records that the temple was built by a Nagavamsi king named Vaidyanatha, most likely a vassal of the Ganga rulers and he possibly renovated/ repaired or maintained the temple after the fall of the Gangas. Situated at Niali village nearly 38kms from both Bhubaneswar and Cuttack easily accessible from SH60.
