An old school watering hole in Adyar, offering reasonably priced drinks and great tasting food. Ambiance is about okay, dimly lit, and can be considered dingy :) There is a bar room, and an adjoining room with a billiards table. There are bar table areas in both rooms. A smoking areas is also present outside the closed air conditioned space. As with budget friendly drinking places in Chennai, keep your expectations realistic. There are usually no women here. There is a rest room on site that is about okay. Cleanliness is decent. Staff are efficient and there are a lot of free snacks. Of the dishes on the menu, the Chill Beef was excellent, 1 plate wasn't enough. Membership is required, with both short term and annual membership being sold. The latter allowing for discounts. Identity details are recorded as part of the membership process, thus ensuring some level of documentation and control. If you're looking for a decent, no nonsense, no frills drinking spot, with good food, SNS will fit the bill.

Best place in the neighborhood for a VFM drinking experience. Chennai most definitely has a dearth of quality watering holes for the middle class consumer. One either needs to be upscale or outright street thug to be able to enjoy your tipple. However this hidden gem is a blessing for people around Gandhinagar / Kasturba Nagar. There is air conditioning and the booze is nominally priced. Best part of the whole setup is the kitchen which serves up delectable side dishes. I go there mainly to enjoy the side dishes accompanied by the odd beer or whiskey. Do not miss this if you're in the vicinity and looking for a enjoyable session of drinks n food. There are also a couple of pool tables if one fancies a game or two. P.S though I would not consider any place in Chennai unsafe for women (due to the inherent culture of our city), I have never, in all my visits, ever seen any woman here ever. So ladies do visit if you are feeling adventurous.

A simple Bar with amazing food. They have snooker and pool also. This is one of the few bars in India that needs Membership to visit the bar. You can make a spot purchase of Membership worth 50 or 100 bucks and then inside it's all yours. Try the fish fry for sure.

Good place to chill.. By the way you need to have atleast one member of the club accompanying you. PS: One can spot register himself/herself as a member with valid I-card
