SNOW VALLEY - Resort hotel in Chithirapuram - Idukki, India

We booked this resort for 3 days and the advance payment was 5000. We had some personal issues, so we tried to cancel the resort before 1 week and ask the 5000 back. But they did not give any proper response and did not give that 5000 back. The person who attends the call does not know any language except Malayalam and he doesn't provide decent answers and abruptly cuts the call. Worst service possible.

Pros: - Good isolated location and peaceful - The property gives you a traditional feel and they have a collection of vintage vehicles .. Cons: - NO HOT WATER. We faced horrible issues and imagine bathing in cold water in less than 15 degrees of outside temperature in Munnar. - NO NEARBY FOOD OPTIONS. If you ask for food options to the caretaker, he will give you the same menu card every day with not much varieties, we were bored to eat the same set of items. That too only Lunch and Dinner can be ordered to your location. For breakfast you have to plan yourself , the caretaker will not be of any help. - NO TOILETRIES. The caretaker will not provide any toiletries to the guests. When we asked for a towel, he just gave one towel and said "Its one towel for 1 room". What kind of dumb logic to provide 1 towel for a double room. - LAZY CARETAKER. Daas is our caretaker. He was very lazy to look after the guests. Be it toiletries or plates, he is always hesitant to provide anything. He smokes near the guest room. He forces the guests to order the food for him. I had never faced any experience where the guests have to order food for the caretaker too. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR FAMILIE AND KIDS WHERE TIMELY FOOD AND HOT WATER IS A BIG ISSUE.

If you are willing to stay in peaceful, isolated location, then it is the best place. Food and beverages needs to be ordered from nearby restaurants as kitchen is not available, but one caretaker is available to help with Tea / Coffee and water bottles. Own / Engaged vehicle is mandatory as no public transportation is available with in 2-3 km radius. Hot water depends on solar water heater ; however care taker was helpful in providing hot water if required. Beds are sufficient for 2 people only.

Top notch ambience and mind blowing surroundings. It's even perfect for a photoshoot. Nice tea plantation on the back side and great meadow view on the front side. Awesome treat. Will come back here again.

Well decorated and maintained narrow road located in remote area and parking of car very difficult due to high location but really adventure. Vitage car scooter bull cart gramphone and radio are brings our golden days memories.

We got a trekking experience while traveling to snow valley the road was like that, the resort was good, antiques maintained, there are 3 rooms, dining area was outside closer to the resort, contains 2 small varandhas, back side was a tea plantation, the service was very good, a kind man with a helping mind- Das chettan is there to help you.

Because the resort was fully comfortable and we enjoyed a lot and budjet friendly
