This place was a revelation. Found it on maps just a couple of months back. When I reached the entrance door, I heard the sound of a lock clicking. That's when I saw the box kept outside for people to deposit snakes, with 2 cobras within! Prabhat Saji, their herpetology researcher was very interactive and informative on snakes, quite fearless too. It is a great place for snake enthusiasts to learn, understand and appreciate the reptiles.
They have a lot of snakes but due to low lighting, stained glasses and dirty cages it was not a good experience.
The place is really cool...The snake park, botanical garden etc.. in same compound. During my Poojappura days the board outside always fascinated me...so one afternoon me and my 3colleagues visited the place.

good for snake lover..... basically it is a Kerala Government Ayurvedic Medical College campus where snakes are kept for medicinal research....just before the Kerala Government Ayurvedic College main Building, there is a building making entry for snake park. Google Map can take you close there but not at exact place...... it is isolated place and not developed as a tourist place. infrastructure is not good..only a true lover of snake can enjoy .as there are lot varieties.....

It is a small but very comfortable park for kids and adults. There are small play area and places to sit around. The FM at evenings will give you a pleasant experience too. Amidst the busy city this park is a cozy place at Kowadiar.
