SMT Sweets & Vegetarian Restaurant - Restaurant in Needamangalam - Thiruvarur, India

On the way after our trip to few temples, we stopped here for lunch. Location not very sure as we found it just like that. But it's in a prime shopping area. It's a pure vegetarian restaurant with a seating of approx 30-60 peoples and a sweet stall in the entrace. They hv AC dining hall. We are offered AC room but not taken. The climate was rainy. Due to covid, there was no crowd at all except us and a few in AC room. Sat in a 6 seater and 3 of us ordered for proper lunch(meals) and 2 incl me ordered for parotta(Naan like bread but cooked in pan with oil). The meal was so delicious and the service of food was typical old style. Not like in small bowls, it was served in one after the other in a banana leaf whereas our food came in a plastic plate. The accompaniments are slightly spiced gravy, korma, mint chutney, raitha, slices of onion & carrot. The parotta is bigger in size and will definitely enough for single person. Also ordered for chappathi(It's a wheat based Indian bread). The lunch which others had got typical south indian items. Sambar, rasam, sides, white rice etc. Actually we are slightly over eaten but ok. After lunch, we got to talk with the owner of the restaurant who is also doing few cameo roles in Tamil cinema. He gave tastings of freshly made Indian sweets and also we bought some. I didn't talk much with him but my father had. Overall a wonderful restaurant with few points to consider. 1. Inspite we all know covid is still in presence, there was no sanitizer, soap provided. None was wearing mask. No corona?? 2. One of the server was just behind our table kind of staring while we eating which made us slightly uneasy. Wasn't for the whole time but most times. It was shared with the owner & I hope this will be addressed. 3. The towel by the wash sink was so dirty and I'm not sure for what purpose it was there. 4. No tissue was provided neither we asked. However it's still a village & town mixed place, so expecting it might b not correct. 5. Absolutely no parking in front of the restaurant. It's a main turning point for vehicles and u need to park your car away.

Good quality meals for Rs.60. But the waiters here make lot of unwanted noise inside the restaurant. There is a constant sound of plates dropping,Waiters ordering other waiters.. except this the restaurant is good.

Not bad and best choice in between Kumbokonam to Needamaglam and yes for Alangudi pilgrimage visit.

There is no parking if you're traveling please avoid food not hot service 2 str

Best restaurant in that surrounding. Rate and Taste is uncomparable.

here milk sweet is 500/kg,but it tastes like low class sweets.even in b.g.naidu sweet trichy its only 480/kg.very worst and high priced..dont buy sweets from here

Customer service very very very bad before using parcel banana leaf now using plastic that's is not good for health Customer ask one item he is giving another item waste of money he forced all customer Please check this complaint
