It's is 6 km from Pani Bhandar It's surroundings so many beautiful hills different type of plants and flowers and here one natural fountain. In this temple so many monkeys. This place is under the forest department that time it is close for the tourists. It is open for tourist 1st November will be. it is so peaceful and spiritual.
It's a must visit place ,for people who visit last moment without booking for safari ends up in this sitavani zone you will not find animals but calm temple inside the forest welcomes you.. Lot of monkeys r there should be careful.. Peace and good vibes
Birth place of Love and Kush sons of Mata Sita and Ram. Rushi Valmiki Ashram. Very holly & historical place.
Old, small and charming temple complex, tucked away in the wilderness, seemingly off the hectic tourist zones around Corbett.
Be ready for a rugged drive through dirt tracks and dense forests, which is an experience in itself. An offroader - your own or a hired gypsy - is preferable, but I spotted some families brave the track in their i10s too!
Once there, you'll be mesmerized by multiple temples housing moortis that are both recent and ancient. As one would expect, Sita is central here, but don't miss the old rock carved shivlings, nandi, hanuman and other statues.
You can also enjoy the tranquility of cool fresh water flowing through the complex on a hot summer day. There is also a small pond full of tiny fishes.
The only sad part was the plastic, empty juice bottles and other trash that we saw lying around the area. This despite visitors being provided garbage bags at the ticketing counter while entering the forest area. Otherwise too, some proper attention and upkeep might help from the concerned authorities.
Temple is deep inside the Jungle and it's a part of Safari for Sitavani zone. More than half way you will find locals using the same road and some times honking their vehicles. So chances of wild animal sighting is rare in this zone during the day. People usually book this side of Safari when they donot get slots for main Jim Corbett Safari... Be aware of monkeys when you reach the temple.
A place which should be a heritage site is getting converted into ruins. The place wr sitaji gave birth to luv-kush is not maintained at all . The place in itself is so calm. When world is talking abt Ram the places which are important in life of sita is ignored let it be her birthplace in sitamarhi or sitavani here. Sad state of affair . Hope some day the govt take a note of this.
Sitavani Temple, hidden deep within the jungle of Sitabani zone, is a peaceful and sacred place that holds the essence of Devi Sita's presence. Despite its isolated location, the temple's historical significance and serene atmosphere make it a must-visit destination. While some may overlook its beauty, those who approach with an open heart can experience a profound spiritual awakening. Let the skeptics say what they will, for Sitavani Temple offers a connection to the divine that can only be felt from within the soul.
It is believed that Ma Sita with her sons Luv and Kush visited the Sitabani forest and stayed here for some time. In memory of her, there's a temple constructed inside the Corbett Tiger Reserve and hence the place has been named 'Sitabani', literally translating to Goddess Sita's Forest. The temple is quite ancient and totally isolated. There's only a single priest who lives here amidst the dense forest and wildlife. There's also a water source inside the temple that gives out warm water.
