One of the beautiful place I have visited. The beauty of this small town lies not only with the nature but also the people of Sirsi. Such a kind and welcome hearted bunch. The food is delicious specially the fish meal I've tried from few of the restaurants. Sirsi is a blend of natural, historical and geographical attractions such as Sahasralinga, Banavasi, Yana, waterfalls, and shrines across the town. The traditional snacks/food items such as appemidi, Joni bella, chiroti, appe huli, akki kajjaya (excuse me if I spell them wrong) are splendid. Thanks to one of my special friend who has guided me to visit the place. I myself seriously forgot about a need of wifi to get connected after I reach there because it is such a pleasing destination. Love to be there again!!

Sirsi is a laid back temple town /taluk in Uttara Kannada district. Famously known for Shri Marikamba temple and its twice yearly celebrations which sees lakhs of people thronging to this town to take Goddesses blessings. This Biannual celebration, there will be exhibitions and lot of fun stuffs. The so called city's hi-fi travellers shouldn't visit with high expectations as it's a small town. There are very few good restaurants and hotels for staying. There are many tourist attractions close by which fall in 2-3 hours travel like Yaana, Kumta, Jog falls, Gokarna and South Goa. And there are also many flowing rivers where you can plan picnics like Maani Hole. Sirsi is very hot in summer and it rains heavily during rainy/mansoon season. In terms of food, seafoods are famous here they have konkan flavor. Apart from that, banana chips, Jack fruit chips, Red chilli papads are quite popular and is exported to all over India.

Awesome place. Jatra mahotsav in Sirsi is amazing. It occurs once in 2 years. One year there will be jatra. And next year there will be Bedara vesh. In 2019 there is bedara vesh and in 2020 there is jatra mahotsav. Jatra mahotsav of sirsi is biggest jatra mahotsav of Karnataka. So must go there and enjoy the place. #enjoysirsi
