Nice place to see, but improper maintenance, some view points are not much safe, be careful when uou go with kids. Road is narrow 2 cars crossing a bit difficult, other side of dam has park please visit , people are fishing most of the areas.
Good to visit when gates open, Better to take right diversion(jogipet road) if you travel from Hyderabad. Seafood lovers will enjoy more.
Nice place to visit in the monsoon season. We visited on 6-Aug-22 and the entrance is closed we need to take a side way to see the dam view. There is one more route to visit a park and from there we can go near to the dam. Earlier there used to be a park and now it's not maintained well. People/Visitors are using this as a place to booze. Fresh fishes are available in the nearby stores prizes starting from 20 to 100 rupees based on fish variety.
A good place near hyderabad ... Entry to the dam is not allowed .. but you can enjoy the beauty of reservoir and have fresh fish fry.... It's better to visit after or during monsoon season...
Thizzz dam is toh big vth 17 gates it's to big dam & that ocean is to big I really like it's wonderful place to visit & most imp it's best we can go down & we can see how the water flows & it's speciality is the reservoir built for hydroelectric & irrigational purpose
The place is scenic with good views of the reservoir and the dam. Going to this location, you'll pass through a lot of sugarcane, cotton farms and rice fields. All in all, a pleasant drive away from the chaos of Hyderabad city but at present they closed the entrance of dam ,so we can see only from outside and here fish fry available from this river and you should bargain them and you enjoy only the drive and at most you can spend half an hour at that place. Water in the Sam is abundant for most part of the year as it is used now for the sole purpose of agriculture and drinking purposes. Getting to the dam is easy and I took the route via sadashivpet. The road was broken on the last stretch of 10 kms leading to the dam. Telangana govt has setup a Haritha restaurant but I don't know about maintenance of this?
Built on River Manjira which originates in Maharashtra, Singur Dam is one of the major source of drinking water for Hyderabad. This dam which is located around 70 km from Hyderabad is a major tourist attraction as well. To reach the dam, taking the Sangareddy route is preferable as Manjira Dam also can be covered during the same trip. You got to try the fish fry sold at the shops located about 200 meters away from the dam... it is finger licking good. Worth a one time visit. #SingurDam #SourceOfDrinkingWater #ManjiraRiver #WorthOneTimeVisit #17Gates #HydroElectric #Irrigation #DrinkingWaterProject #29TMCFtStorage #BuiltIn1998
Have a bike ride from hyderabad to singur dam. Ride was good. Journey is more beautiful than destination. I take Nh-119 near iit hyderabad, road has less traffic and you will enjoy the ride. Route: hyderabad- honnapur-singur dam.
