We had a great time at Singtom, made special by our host Priyom. He was welcoming, attentive and professional throughout, and took us on an early morning tea tasting and a memorable trip down to the river. We have had to mark our room down as we struggled with electricity problems, but the Singtom tea resort and associated estate are stunning and well worth a visit!
Loved the tea tasting experience. And the property is breathtaking. We had a clear view of the Kanchanjunga from the balcony. Roads to the property are very badly damaged so reaching there is an issue. Small cars not suitable.
Beautiful tea estate resort with British era architecture and large spacious rooms. The location is beautiful and the whole ambiance and views are mesmerizing. The tea production tour of the factory, tea tasting and the complimentary tea, from the same estate, was such a treat. They also organized cake and kheer for my birthday on request without any charges. What was a little disappointing was the food taste, quantity and the excessively high prices for a menu serving veg food only.
All in all a good experience, with a very high pocket pinch.
It was nice memories feeling like Homely and all the staffs are very good In nature behaviour like brothers and sisters. Thanks to all of you we are planning to visit again very soon .Tea is excellent.Nice Hospitality
We had an amazing 3 nights stay here! Before arriving and during our whole stay the communication was great and staff were always helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious! All local and organic. Suparna, Madham, and Surya in particular helped to make our stay extra special. We watched workers plucking tea in the tea fields, toured the tea factory, and enjoyed a tea tasting. We have an even greater appreciation for Darjeeling tea! I would highly recommend a stay here at Singtom Tea Estate & Resort!!!
Stayed in the resort for 2 Nights - 22nd and 23rd June with my wife.
Overall, a great experience and would love to come back to the place again (sometime in Oct though when its not raining and Kanchanjunga is clearly visible from the property). Things we really liked:
1. It's located inside a tea garden far from the hustle bustle and crowd of Darjeeling main city and hence the stay was peaceful and serene.
2. The rooms while having modern facilities still gave vibes of yester years and hence gave a feeling that we were living in history.
3. The staff (specially Suparna) was very cordial and attended to all our requests. She even presented us with a bouquet of roses plucked straight form their garden as a welcome gesture.
4. The free-flowing supply of freshly made tea is an added perk.
5. The dinner (completely Veg) was extremely homely as well as tasty. While I am a hard core non vegetarian, the paneer kofta and chhole masale were to die for and for a change I didn't miss NV.
Do note that the approach road leading up to the property is a little tipsy turvy, but then again an experienced local driver should take care of it.
Rooms are large and spacious but no privacy is there. For every single thing like for taking the orders of food, staff used to bang the door. Not recommended for newly married couples. Booked the resort for 3 nights and days however had to cancel it after one day stay, because there is hardly any activity to do. Most of the activities which are advertised are available between 5:30-7:30 a m early in the morning which is not feasible. Besides the place is far away from the main Darjeeling town, Cab drivers will charge a hefty amount between 1000 Rs to 1500 Rs. Though in pictures it looks good but u will get bored in a single day. Moreover at night this place feels secluded and feels scary. Hence not recommended for couples
A beautiful, refreshing stay.
My March'2023 days were beautiful under the starry sky, hill surrounded tea estate Singtom tea resort. Rooms were well maintained, delicious food, visit to the tea garden and tea factory was memorable.Entire resort tells the story of its rich heritage. My honour to meet Mr. Mohan Chirimar and listening about the history of the resort, sharing our devotion to lord Shiva will always be cherished. To whom I am known as Shiv bhakt .
A must visit for all
