It's a superb Monsoon or Post monsoon easy grade trek. I suggest you park your vehicle on main road and walk down till base village rather than taking ur vehicle inside as the inside road gets muddy during the rain. It is one of the most peaceful offbeat trek in Malshejghat. You will be surprised to see the beauty around from the top of this hill fort. The approaching ridge walk is mind blowing. You will get arial view of the huge dam that goes to Khireshwar which is the base village for Harishchandragad and Aadrai Forest Trail. It will take abt one and half hr to climb this fort. The trail is very simple however when u r walking on the trail n u see the fort on ur left side you hv to take a left that will take you to the ridge of the mountain. Look for the arrow mark put on the stones on the trail. You may not find any groups trekking here as it's offbeat and comparatively easy n short trek. We had combine Sindolafort trek and Aadrai Forest Trail Hiking on same day. We had even gone on top of the Kalu Waterfall from Aadrai Forest.

Sahyadri Lovers Will Love The Vibe. It's an normal trek but tuff at some points. At the top you'll be witnessing strong winds and Fogg too. Picturesque place and do also trek a little more to sangramgad. Thank you

Sindola or Shindola fort is a small hill fort in Junnar region of Maharashtra on top of Malshej Ghat Plateau. Sindola mountain is distinct by its pinnacle structure visible from anywhere. Sindola is more of a sort of military base as it offers whole view of Malshej and Pargaon region and all of its neighboring forts. Sindola dates back very old at the similar times of Nimgiri and Hadsar. The start of Sindola fort is from Karanjale village which is one of the 3 base villages of Sindola. Other being Bagadwadi at Pargaon and other Velkhind which connects Malshej to Pargaon region. The route starts from the fields opposite the signboard of Karanjale village from the fields. The route is not marked but is quite distinct as one has to go up and reach Sindola plateau at the start point of the ridge. Route is quite distinct and less chance of losing the way.Route to Sindola is pretty straight forward, easy to moderate climb (monsoon) and requires 2.5 km trek with an altitude gain of appx 450m where as overall height of mountain is around 1150m asl. When you turn to your left, a series of famous peaks like Devdandya, Bhojgiri, Nimgiri - Hanumantgad and many forts will be standing tall. Take some time to enjoy the stunning view around you.Karvi/Karwi is a group of seven species of shrubs, restricted to the western ghats. Famous because they rarely bloom. Each flower has its own cycle. Once in a seven-year period, they bloom. One can spot these rare flowers on the trail. There are other beautiful wildflowers throughout the trek.

Another watchtower fort in the Junnar region, which gives a 360deg view of Malshej Ghat, surrounding mountain range and the Pimpalgaon Joge Dam. The trek takes about 2 hours to reach the top with medium difficulty, and becomes even more difficult in monsoon as the narrow traverse patch becomes invisible because of tall grass. Only things to see on the top are a collage of water tanks, a bastion and ruins of steps on the way to top.

Sindola fort was used as watchtower to keep watch on ancient route of Malshej Ghat. Sindola Fort provides excellent view of Pimpalgaon Joge Dam. Sindola Fort is about 98km from Kalyan and 111km from Pune. Harishchandragad, Nimgiri-Hanumantgad, Bhairavgad, Naneghat can be seen from top of Sindola Fort in clear weather.

Sindola fort is situated near Malshej ghat used as watch tower to keep control on Malshej ghat trade route. Difficulty level is medium and takes 2-2.5 hr. to reach the top. Some patches can be difficult, slippery and risky during Monsoon. Harishchandragad, Hadsar, Nimgiri , Bhairavgad forts can be seen from Sindola. loved this trek as this is less explored. Keep our forts clean!!

Sindola Fort gives you 360deg view of Malshej Ghat. One can experience best view of the beautiful scenery from the top. It will leave the beauty of Harishchandragad & Kalsubai Mountain range with Pimpalgaon Joga Dam mirroring image forever in your eyes (refer the attached picture for reference). Easily accessible from Highway Road. You can start your journey from Kalyan Bus Depot for the buses leaving towards Otur/Ahmednagar or just drive your private vehicle towards Khubi Phata/Karanjale Village. Since I have done a couple of time Harishchandragad trek via khireshwar village so was very well aware about the roads and spot of Sindola fort which lies on the way. So had started the trek via Khubi Phata turning point (this starting point is a distance ahead of Khubi Phata bus stop, so don't get confused between the two). Will recommend you to start the trek from Karanjale village. Best time to visit after monsoon somewhere between Oct-Jan. Also avoiding travelling via Malshej Ghat during monsoon is advisable unless you're risk averse because of rock falls incidents. Difficulty level: Easy. One day trek. Just plan & grab your bag and start enjoying your journey PS: For reaching the top while ascending you have to take left from the most upper tail which lead to thin side walk making a C turn towards up.

This fort used to be watchtower to keep an eye on Malshej ghat region. Time to reach top is approximately 2 hours from base. Difficulty level: Medium( Not recommended in Monsoon) I did this fort in april and got spectacular view of cloud formation on Pimpal joga dam.
