This is not the real konar kadai located at simmakkal. another fake shop operating in that name. worst food. found fish bones in mutton boti gravy. just throw some chilly powders and cheat customers. The goat paya was not cooked at all and mixed with chicken gravy.
As usual this branch also stands up to the expectations of their other branches in Madurai. They have a spacious ac dining hall on the first floor with comfortable seating.
Their Kari dosa is a must try and we had their mutton vengaayakari, suvarotti, kozhi roast, moolai Roast and chicken chukka. They gave three different types of gravies that were amazing.
If you love spicy food, this place is a heaven.

Konar kadai right from my childhood till now the taste of the kari dosa is same but the size is reduced & the price is increased . The taste of the salna's and gravy are good . We ate sukka , chicken pepper the taste is good . The Ambience of the konar kadai is maintained as the same . Overall a good experience. Do visit it .........

I love kari dosai, and specifically I like the taste of Konar Mess's Kari dosai in Madurai. This restaurant is located near to Thanga Regal Theatre. I started to taste this dosa when it was priced around 120 rupees. But now in 2021, the price is 250. Whenever I got a chance to travel through train, I mostly come to this shop to have a KARI DOSAI. In the evening time, there is no service to the round floor. Service is available only for first floor. They have very limited dishes in this branch, you can't get all the verities which they are serving in their main branch which is located in Simmakkal. In the evening time you can get Dosa, Idly and side dishes. If you prefer different briyanis, ayirai meen kulambu - then you need to visit their main branch, since these are not available in this branch.

Tasty food, so much of variety and good service is wat Konar mess is all about. Loved the mutton kari dosa, prawn 65 and nethili fry that I had today. Mutton chops was also nice.
Good place for a family get-together as well as friends' hangout spot. A spacious restaurant with good ambience and the hospitality is good. Cleanliness is well maintained and serves the food with authentic taste. Kari dosai is the signature dish in here and will mesmerises us with its unique flavour of taste which is a must try dish in here.
My personal favourites in here are Crab lollipop & Chicken chukka apart from Kari dosai.

Food was too good. Kulcha & Butter chicken was lit. Naan & Tantoori chicken was real good. I'm not a big fan of basmati biriyani so no comments on it.
