Silver brook Shillong Homestay - Hotel in Shillong - East Khasi Hills, India

I wasn't expecting this but all i want to say is that we greatly appreciate the time you've taken to provide us but... Nobody have informed us that the restaurant would be closed after 7:30or we should order before that..... I would appreciate if you look forward at this situation and let us know every details while we booked..

Pillows were dirty. Rooms were not clean. Check photographs for the hygiene they are maintaining. After rain water entered our room. You can check the video for same. They do offered us their premium suit, but that was not useful for us as we were two families travelling together and their was only one washroom.

Rooms are quite smaller in size, The Food is amazing. Nearby places are beautiful check in from 11 am to 9pm and checkout also same. Last dinner time is 7pm after that no food is being prepared. Bathrooms and rooms are clean , Bed sheets are dirty, Room service is good, Rooms are noisy and not noise proof also (outside noise comes). Best for Couples not for family's.Dorms are also available. Overall its a yes place for me.Didn't face any difficulties

We booked the deluxe room however the facilities were not up to the mark. The geyser did not work at all, it was very cold and they gave us a room where the geyser did not work. The staff were not much of help as they seem like they dont know much hospitality. We had to carry water from a common toilet and take bath as in the morning no one was available to seek help. As a whole the stay experience was not at all good.

Bad experience We had booked two rooms in Silver Brook on 13th March. Total charges were Rs5200 for two rooms with balcony. The room were extremely small and congested. The balcony was for name sake, nothing more than a dry balcony where we keep our washing machine. The balcony view was backside parking area which was pathetic. The rooms alloted to us were next to kitchen with regular disturbance and awful smell. Second floor construction was also going on adding to our awful experience of our stay. On complaining, we were alloted delux rooms which was comparatively little better but not worth the price they charge for these delux rooms. The kitchen starts at 8 am in morning and there is no one in the entire property who is available in the morning for any queries. Forget about warm water or tea in the morning, even the reception gate was closed. Food was good and the manager was also helpful. But overall a very bad stay experience for the amount they charge.

Pros: 13 km away from crowded Shillong city on the main highway at a Y junction of roads that go to Dawki and Cherapunji So one saves min. 30 min one way and 60 min 2 way of travel when one wants to visit the best places around. Low price of around 1600 for a double room. Cons: Rooms are very small and congested. 14 ft x 9 ft. Small window open on to a common passage so one can't open curtains or Windows. No side tables. Small toilet, they switch off geyser switch from outside. It's nowhere deluxe. No staff at night. 2 rooms on ground floor and 3 rooms on 1st floor are small and crammed. Leaking toilets, broken jet spray, very hard bed in one ground floor apartment. Lot of traffic noise on 1st floor rooms. Problem is, there is no sensible and reasonable choice around Shillong.

Are these reviews even true ? I doubt . we were a group of 5 girls who had already booked a dorm in this homestay and all the payments were completed . The train was delayed from njp hence we reached Shillong around 1130 pm and guess what ? No one at the reception ( we had already informed that we would be late ) and the number we were communicating was switched off and to our surprised there was a guy sleeping in a room ( looked like a hostel ) he informed that there is no seperate rooms available and this is a hostel , imagine the horror we felt around 1200 midnight no where to go . The next day the homestay didn't even bother to call us back ,
