Silent Valley National Park Range Office - Forestry service in Palakkad - Palakkad, India

Plan for a day trip from Coimbatore, 02 trip available from Forest office Mukkali / Bhavani range, from there 23 kms to silent valley by Forest department vehicle. First trip commences from 08:00 and second trip by 13:00 hrs. Per trip I think they r sending 300 persons. Ticket prize per head 580/-. It's 4 hrs trip. It's buffer zone & heavy thick forest, animal sighting is rare. In our trip we saw Sarpent eagle, macaq monkey and tiger.

Best place to visit during monsoon.Minimum 4 hr journey through forest on gov jeep.Lucky to experience rain,fog and wind at the watch tower.Dont expect to see any wild animals as the forest is dense.

Provide vehicle and driver cum guide. They will explain everything in detail. We have to book one week before Reach on 8 am to avoid crowd . Good service

Nice place in the midst of Nature. Journey through the jungle road, in Forest department jeep. You can spend quiet time at the peak, with great views and wind. But don't expect to spot any wildlife...!

Jeep safari from here to silent valley is the highlight. Even though there is only less chance of seeing any animals the journey is awesome for those who love forest and forest ambience. Forest stay is also available but that is not real forest, it is arranged at the starting border of mangalavanam.I won't recommend that as it won't give any feel or ambience of a forest stay. You could feel elephant activity nearby while staying there at cottages.

A very refreshing experience. We were lucky to spot a tiger and lion tailed monkeys.
