A beautiful place for those who love nature. We went there by mini bus at 8 am. Bus driver explain very well about each and every thing. It was 23 km journey to reach watch tower. Canteen and washroom are there. Well maintained and clean. Only few varieties of food items were arranged. From there small trekking to kunthi river 1.5 km one way journey. They don't allow us to get in the water. Only we can see snake caught by eagle and giant squirrel.
Recommended for those who love nature..other people get a small disappointment. Private vehicles are not allowed so you can take a mini bus or jeep ride there the bus ride costs around (650 per head)Throughout the journey we can see lion tailed macaque and indian giant squirrel and small water bodies.the travel is about 20-25 km in wild.there is a watchtower there we can see the whole view in 360deg.
Silent Valley National Park, nestled in Kerala, India, is a pristine gem of biodiversity. Its lush rainforests and serene ambiance make it a haven for nature enthusiasts. The park boasts a variety of flora and fauna, including endangered species. Trekking through its trails is a mesmerizing experience. However, access is restricted to protect its delicate ecosystem. A visit to Silent Valley offers a unique opportunity to connect with the untouched beauty of the natural world. Better to visit before 1pm. They will charge a fee for Safari tour.
The ride in jeep through the forest was nice. We couldn't see wild animals except karingurang(Nilgiri langur). They said animals are seen mostly in the summer season. The view from the top of watch tower was really beautiful. As we visited in rainy season, leeches were a little bit scary. After a 1.5 km walking from the watch tower, there was Kunthi river view.
The jeep ride to the national park is thrilling. But the jeep fare is a bit high. Now the staff won't allow you to walk and explore near the Kunthi river, which was permitted earlier.
A must visit rain forest in India. Good ambience.

The trip is only for natural lovers. Others haven't visited can have a try but might have mixed feelings due to the journey time& ticket price(650 per person). There is 23km journey to one side, every members in our gang felt tedious after the journey. The view point view is amazing. Now there are maintanence work ongoing on the bridge over kunthi river and they are not allowing travelers to the river. You can walk some distance through the way to kunthi river & come back. You will also get leach bites during the walk in this summer time also, so please keep a bottle of sanitizer along with you. A visit during the rainy season or just after the rainy season is recommended so that you can enjoy the small streams, river & forest in its full glory.
