At present the environment of Silchar Airport is very clean. Management and maintenance are very good. But, I want to give two suggestions to the Airport Authority of India and Ministry of Civil Aviation (India), 1. I think it is necessary to install a weighing machine outside the airport for the convenience of passengers. Then the passengers can easily get the correct weight of their luggage. 2. In the past, when seeing off the passengers, their families could stay in a room inside the airport and watch the passengers through the fixed glass window to the runway. I don't know, maybe such a step has been taken due to passenger safety and security. But other airports of the country have such facilities. So I think the facilities at Silchar Airport should be to build a hall from where one can easily see their people before boarding the plane.
Small airport but good for local passengers..its a domestic airport. The airport is approximately 30 KM far from silchar railway station.. good customer support are available and security and check in is very fast..
Nice under developed airport of North East India...love to visit again and again.
Small airport but with super helpful CISF staff. This airport requires no shuttle bus to reach terminal building! One suggestion - the entrance has a v sharp uphill ramp which is challenging if you need to push your luggage trolley if it's heavy
Beside being small it is neet and clean airport.with a newly refurbished building. It is located on the top of the hills and approx. 30 KM far from the Silchar city. It looks amazing to see the tea plantation on the hills while landing especially during the rainy season. Currently, It has direct connectivity with Kolkata, Guwahati, Shillong & Delhi. Most of the flights are during forenoon and there are no flights in the evening & night. It's moderately connected with the city with taxis & Assam State Bus. Everything here is hustle free.
Silchar airport was small. But proper clean. Checkin time is about 25 min. Nice staff.
A small and quaint airport. Very convenient for departure and arrival. However not very friendly for passengers with disability.
Although it is a very small airport, all the amenities are available. The self-check-in kiosk was not working properly. However, the airport staff were helpful.
