Silapathar Science College, Silapathar established in the year 1996,has been playing a leading g role in imparting higher education to the students of northern part of the upper Assam ,along with the students of Arunachal Pradesh situated in an economically and educationally backward area ,the college has produce a number of good students in different fields. The Vision and mission of the institution is to provide higher education to the people of this remote and backward area which is lagging behind educationally as well as economically. The institution aims at providing quality education for the upliftment of the society. The College is permanently affiliated to Dibrugarh University and recognized by UGC and recently recognized by KKSOU as Study Centre. LOCATION The college is situated in a highly academic atmosphere at Amritpur within the Silapathar town area and is about 1.5 kms away from the heart of the town and a walking distance (about 1 km) from Silapathar, Likabali main road by Late Mathura Nath Baruah Path (Near Silapathar Masjid). The Silapathar, The gateway to Likabali, Along, Daporjio of Arunachal Pradesh is a small township and principal business hub of the Dhemaji District of Assam. It is situated in the northern part of the mighty river Brahmaputra . It is about 500 Kms. east from Guwahati. The Bogibeel Bridge is connected Silapathar, with Dibrugarh town, which is about 20 Kms away from Silapathar Science College. The famous Hindu Temple, the Malini Than is situated about 7 Kms away from the town at Likabali ,Arunachal Pradesh. The Biodiversity of the Likabali area (A.P.), river Ghai at Likabali is the main attraction to tourists ,research scholar and students. HOW TO REACH The College is easily accessible from Silapathar Town by Bicycle, Rickshaw, Autorickshow, Bike, car etc. BY ROAD (i) From Guwahati: Night and Day buses were available from Guwahati via - Nagaon, Tezpur, North Lakhimpur & Dhemaji. It is 12 hrs. Journey from Guwahati. (ii) From Dibrugarh: Trakkers, Sumo, car etc also available from Kareng chapori ,Bogibeel etc. BY RAILWAY (i) Silapathar can be reached by train starting from Rongia Jn., Kamakhya Railway Station Guwahati.
