Sikkim Himalayan Zoological Park - Zoo in Gangtok - East District, India

This place is a botanical garden as it appeared to be when I visited. There are no animals. But the place is beautiful, filled with various native plants and flowers. A wonderful place to take pictures. You can't miss this place if gardening is your hobby.

If you love animals & don't mind a loooonggg hike, do visit this place! The views are great, however there aren't much animals. If you're lucky you can see leopards, red pandas & bears out of their caves/cages.

One should visit once. See many new kinds of himalayan species. Walking distance is more, so senior citizen should avoid but overall very well maintained.

Awesome view with awesome flowers n awesome water pool. Nice place to visit the with kids and family n with your girlfriend. Different types of flowers are there.

Saw red panda, yak for the first time. My daughter was Very delighted to see these animals. Overall the zoological park is brilliant full of nature, walking through the trees is beautiful experience

Most visited place in gangtok. You love it's lush green campus and plants (temparate). You also got excited to see flowers like orchids. Good place to visit with family and kids. Nice view to take pictures. You have to purchase entry tickets for rupees 20. Kids exempted upto 5 years. Toilet facilities available in cost of Rs 10 per person. I gave 4 star because I feel that many more Himalayan plants may be grown in this area. I think it should be more managed as it not looks like a zoological park. Otherwise place is nice . Visit once. One of the main attraction of the Gangtok town.. This is located just opposite of the Ganesh Tok.. This zoo comprises with the unique diversity of flora and fauna.. Some key points to note: 1. Zoo opens at 10:00am. 2. You'll need vehicle to enter the zoo as the initial captivity starts after 1.5-2km upward road from the entrance gate. 3. Ticket price of zoo is Rs25/- per person and Rs40/- per cab including the driver (as of 6th May, 2023) 4. You'll have to trek a bit to see the animals there, older people may find it difficult. 5. Don't miss the tower at the extreme end of the zoo, you'll be amazed by the view from there.. 6. Main attraction of the zoo is the Red Panda, don't miss it.. 7. Beware of the leeches if you are visiting during monsoon..

Beautiful place where animals are kept in their natural habitats. Red pandas are the main attraction.
