A very well known for amazing South Indian breakfast. Opens nearly at 8 am to 11 am only. Place is flooded with people, a long queue which is fast moving. Outside sitting has no serving of masala dosa and inside are huge rooms which serves masala dosa. Both the sitting has idli, palav or chitrana, Kali dosa and half masala dosa. A spoon of ghee can be added for 15 bucks. Ghee is from k r pete. The dosa is the one in demand and cannot be parceled. No Swiggy or zomato service but you can Dunzo it by calling over phone, however, masaala dosa is not parceled. But the taste is taste. Service is fast and stomach is completely satisfied. Waiting is annoying even on a weekday but after eating the wholesomeness, the waiting worth is satisfied. Payment is made outside where the man who started sits. Locating is little difficult as it inside a old house.

I love the brains behind this place. They get you to come there with all the hype of the cut masala dosa and while you wait for it(which takes 10-15 mins), they sell you other things like thuppa Kali dosa, idli, pulav. Genius marketing strategy. Kudos to them We went early enough to avoid a long queue although the queue moves along quite quickly. The service is quite interesting as they pour the chutney and the saghu over each other which ends up mixing. The concoction is pretty great, spicy but extremely watery. The dosa I got was a little burnt while my dad got a perfect one. So they do lack consistency but they are more or less worttg the hype. The Kali dosa is worth trying too. You do get easy access to the place via about 4 stairs. Fairly easy for elders to get here. It's very easy to miss, so ask around if you can't seem to find it.

Great food. Soft idly, Hot Saagu, Crispy Masala Dosa. I am visiting this place regularly from 1998. Homemade food and no use of chemicals. Worth waiting in the que.

Firstly - this place is NOT for everyone. Read on if you want to know if this place suits you or not. Located in a small lane near Corporation Circle, this is an iconic breakfast place in Bengaluru, famous for many things along with taste of food - Rude owner/staff, Long queues, Location, Ambience (or the lack of it) & "Half" Masala Dosa. Without any MBA or marketing folks, this family run hotel is a great example of running a frugal business by creating artificial scarcity and relying on word-of-mouth marketing for many years. There are 2 queues - One where all items EXCEPT "Half Masala Dosa" is served (RIGHT), another one where all items including "Half Masala Dosa" are served (LEFT). If you're here for the first time, I would definitely recommend the Left Queue to not miss out on the unique Dosa. They can accommodate ~20 people in one batch. So be ready to wait for around 30 mins unless you go very early and get a spot. After waiting in the queue hungrily, watching others eat, smelling the delicacies and Ghee from inside, you are offered a seat on a bench inside their Hut. Look around if you want to be amused at the "ambience". You don't get to order, you've no choice. They just serve 4 dishes - you either eat when they serve or choose to skip and wait for the Dosa. First comes the Hot piping Soft Idlis, with Chutney and Saagu. Ask for extra ghee on the Idly to make it more yummy. They don't serve Sambar. Idly and Saagu is a unique combination and I love it. Then comes Variety Rice item - they've a unique rice item everyday - Pulav, Tomato Bath, Lemon Rice etc. Then comes Soft fluffy & ghee loaded Tuppa Khali Dose. Unlimited Chutney and Saagu served if asked. Finally comes the "Half Masala Dose". Wafer thin, crispy, evenly roasted Dosa with Gatti Chutney smeared and Aloo Palya inside. The perfect Masala Dosa. Worth the wait. Will you get one more "Half Masala Dosa"? NO, you have to stand in the queue again for that :) No digital payments. They accept only cash and the owner "Siddappa" becomes grumpier if you don't give change, so carry change if possible (these days they have improved and keep some change to offer). Parking - If you've a car, you will have to park somewhere on the main road and walk for a few metres. 4 stars only because this place is not for majority of people, so maybe it's not inclusive. My personal rating is 5 stars. You always have a choice not to go through this experience, it's their hotel, they run it the way they want and they have no inhibitions in accepting it. I guess the charm of the place is lost if they try fixing the "issues". If you want a "Humbling" experience along with taste, do visit once and then decide whether you want to go again :)

A restaurant/food stop should have everything to be called as a perfect or 5 star eligible place. Everything in the sense - taste, service, cleanliness, parking and a mindset to take customer feedback. I have been to this place before COVID Lockdown and this was my visit after almost 3 years. Can't say I am a big fan of this place, but this is one of the experiences that Bangalore people should have once. Lemme start with parking, which is always a known problem at this locality, prefer to be there in 2 wheeler, which is easy to find a small parking space. Rather than walking off a long distance after parking your 4 wheeler. This is one of the drawbacks of this place. Then comes the service, I can't complain about anything on services, but we must have a lot of patience when visiting this place, because even on a rainy weekday, I had to wait for 40 mins in queue to get a seat here. Once we enter it's a little small space where we get to get breakfast and no such tables to rely on. Cleanliness is not a big deal, though the place is old in its infrastructure, they have always kept it clean and tidy. Good that they've maintained it. Taste is a factor that am actually sceptical about. Coz, I see many people praising the special crispy MASALA DOSA here, which I keep tasting in every visit and not feel like it's upto mark. People come here for HALF MASALA DOSA, in order to wait around 15 mins for that they serve Idly, Thuppa Khali Dosa and Rice bath. I always felt THUPPA KHALI DOSA is the BEST here, more than that crispy Half Masala Dosa. Do you agree with me? If yes, do give a like to this review

A very cozy place where you feel like home and proper village home and the food is explicitly good and light, order lemon rice and half masala dosa that is very good. Prices are super low and it's very comfortable place, come a little late around 10:30 , else there might be a line

No doubt it's an Iconic breakfast spot in Bangalore! And the dosa here is amazing! The waiting time over here is usually around 20 minutes. Rice bath is delicious as well. Don't forget to try their ghee khali dosa. Highly recommended for a classic South Indian breakfast experience.
