Shri Vitthal Rukmini Mandir - Hindu temple in Pandharpur - Solapur, India

I recently visited the Pandharpur Vittal Rukhmini Temple, a place that radiates positive vibes. One of the must-do activities is the Nagar Pradikshana, a spiritual walk around the temple that brings a deep sense of serenity. During our visit, we chose to stay at Mukta Bai Muth, which provided a warm and homely atmosphere. Chandrabhaga River holds immense significance for Maharashtrians, as it is considered sacred. Many people take ritual baths in the river in the name of Lord Vittal. However, it's important to note that maintaining hygiene around the river is a concern. The responsibility for ensuring cleanliness primarily lies with the government and temple trust. Efforts should be made to improve the sanitation facilities to preserve the sanctity of this sacred place. Ram Krushna hari !

It was a very pleasant temple. The statue of Lord Vittal was quite exquisite. We had a good experience when we touched the feet of the Lord. Upon witnessing and touching the feet of the Lord, my wife nearly broke down. We have never felt so appreciative; this is something that can only occur at this temple. Everyone must attend the temple.

The Vithoba Temple, officially known as Shri Vitthal-Rukmini Mandir (Marathi: shrii vitthtthl-ruukminni deuul), is a Hindu temple in Pandharpur, in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the main centre of worship for Vithoba, a form of the god Vishnu or Krishna, and his consort Rakhumai. It is Classified one among the 108 Abhimana Kshethram of Vaishnavate tradition. The temple was built by King Vishnuvardhana of Hoysala Empire between 1108-1152 CE upon being convinced by the historical figure Pundalik. Also, there is an inscription in the temple, of a Hoysala King Vira Someshwara dating back to 1237 CE, which grants the temple a village for its upkeep. It is the most visited temple in Maharashtra. The Warkaris start marching from their homes to the temple of Pandharpur in groups called Dindi (procession) to reach on Aashadhi Ekadashi and Kartiki Ekadashi. A dip in the holy river Chandrabhaga, on whose banks Pandharpur resides, is believed to have power to wash all sins. All the devotees are allowed to touch the feet of the idol of Vithoba. In May 2014, the temple became the first in India to invite women and people from backward classes as priests

The temple was really pleasant. The Lord vittal statue was really beautiful. We touched the feet of the Lord vittal and it was a pleasant experience for us. My wife almost cried after seeing and touching the feet of the Lord. We never experienced this grateful feeling, this will happen only in this temple. Must visit temple for everyone.

What a great holy place it is. Once you enter in Mandir and when you saw God Vitthal and Rukmini you will mesmarize this for ever.... If you go on weekend then charansparsh line can take upto 5 hrs where as mukhdarshan can be done in 15-30 min.... Don't forget to buy Kandi pedha from there....

Having darshan closely following in a queue(normally may take 3-4 hours on any day). 2. Doora darshan(from a distance of 15 meters.) . It's a quick darshan for us because we opted for mukhdarshana only. If you are interested in pada darshana which is too close to the murti then it takes more than 4 hours standing in queue. The temple complex also includes various other shrines dedicated to different deities like Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, and Goddess Satyabhama. The courtyard of the temple is known as the "Chandrabhaga River" and is believed to be a sacred spot where Lord Vitthal and Rukmini used to bathe. Devotees from different parts of Maharashtra and other regions visit the Vitthal Rukmini Mandir to seek blessings, offer prayers, and participate in religious ceremonies. The temple premises are bustling with activity, especially during major festivals like Ashadi Ekadashi and Kartik Ekadashi, when the town of Pandharpur witnesses a large influx of pilgrims. Sorry to say that but vitthal mandir under Government supervision and its pathetic to say there is no welcoming or overwhelming stay or weather due to government responsibility. In India there is only one god and it's a VITTHAL RUKHMINI. There are so many temples in India like Sai baba, tirupati balaji, lalbagh cha raja all are under private trust that's why they are in good condition. I don't know how CM goes there every year and couldn't find out the condition of one of the earth's most important temple conditions not so well or the government not watching at all. mraatthyaaNcaa shrddhaa sthaan mhnnje vitthtthl mNdir...... Please request all peoples this corrupted government will not do anything to over overwhelming places that the VITTHAL MANDIR we have to do ourselves. All government MP MLA CM are corrupts, if they don't have time for there god what will you expect from them for you I would suggest just vote that person who is workikg in your society or in your gaali don't thik about modi all are currupt if they can manage to get Ajit pawar or udayanraje bhosale what you think they are.

Visited with family, took Pune-Sholapur highway and it was smooth ride ,not too much traffic. Lot of food options on the way. key points to note when in Pandharpur : 1. Parking near temple is available but at some distance. Better take auto if you don't want to walk long distance. 2. We didn't buy online tickets as it was showing error. We took charan darshan following the long queue but it was worth waiting in queue. Started at 5pm finished at 9pm. Total time taken was around 4 hrs. which may defer based on day and time. We were able to touch feet of lord which is very divine experience. 3. There are enough mobile lockers. Don't try to be smart because you will get caught as there are multiple security checks to ensure no one carries mobile. 4. Keep water and basic food with you while in queue as it takes long time. You can carry small bag inside, security didn't mind it. 5. Keep your sleepers and phone in car if going by car. 6. Don't fall into scams which are quite common at holy places now a days. But we didn't find too many people trying to trick us.. 7. Laddu prasadam is available outside temple which is run by temple itself. Cost is 20 rupees for bundi laddu prasadam. 8. Shops mostly accept only cash so carry some cash with you. You might not find many googlepay or upi options. 9. There are few restaurants, including gujrati and Rajasthani thali. Also there is open food court with large number of stalls serving all varieties of food. As its holy place, don't disrespect or criticize people or arrangement, be humble and take darshan with pure heart.
