His father's name was - Jingraji Ranoji Janorkar, while his mother's name was Sakhubai Jingraji Janorkar. Gadge Maharaj was a social reformer with scientific approach. He spent his entire life in the service of the downtrodden and the downtrodden. His kirtan was a part of public enlightenment. Through his kirtans, he used to criticize the hypocrisy and tradition of the society. Gadgebaba taught cleanliness and character while convincing the society about the importance of education. Gadge Maharaj was a social reformer who worked for the eradication of ignorance, superstition, and uncleanliness among the poor and downtrodden. Tirthi Dhondapani Dev Rokda Sajjani |" Says Gadgebaba, a great saint who serves the poor, weak, orphans, disabled. "Don't go to temple, don't worship idols, don't borrow money from moneylenders, don't be rustic, pothi-purana, mantra-tantra, devadevski , don't believe in miracles." He taught people throughout his life. This saint, who sought God in man, started Dharamshalas, Orphanages, Ashrams and Vidyalayas for orphans in various places in Maharashtra. Ranjale-Ganjale, Din- The weak, crippled and orphans were their gods. Gadgebaba was the most popular among these gods.
