SHRI KUMARASWAMY TEMPLE - Hindu temple in Sandur - Ballari, India

Nestled in the mountains, one has to wind through mountainous roads among various mining trucks to get to this place. Once there, one forgets the troubles one went through to get here and come back rejuvenated. This is a very ancient shrine of Subrahmanya who is consecrated here as a bachelor. Hence, women of menstruating age do not enter the Subrahmanya shrine. Local women and the royal family women do not enter the Subrahmanya shrine. The reasoning is that Brahmacharyas, or students, are not allowed to interact with women as their focus is only studies. Similarly, Brahmacharini (or girl student) is not allowed to interact with boys. However, the Parvathi shrine next to it is as divine and honouring as the Subrahmanya shrine. Therefore, if you are visiting here, please respect local customs. When you go, please take your offerings from the city of Sandur as there are no shops there. Take some extra bananas for the cows there. There is one especially affectionate black one who showers one with love. Unfortunately, we did not know about this and we ended up not taking anything in hand. Don't miss the very interesting sculptures of this Chalukya/Kadamba period temple. The Mahishasura Mardini sculpture behind the Parvathi shrine is especially unique.

Expected to be a 1200 year temple complex. Sri Kumaraswamy Temple in Donimalai is a historical complex with temples dedicated to Parvati and Kumaraswamy. Discovered in the 15th century, the Ghorpades, local rulers, played a key role. Originally, women were banned, but the prohibition was lifted in 1996. The Ganesha idol in Kumaraswamy Temple is now more popular than the main deity, Kartikeya. The Ghorpades, ahead of their time, opened the temple to Harijans in the 1930s. The Parvati temple exhibits unique Badami Chalukya architecture. The Kumaraswamy Temple, dating back to the Rashtrakuta rule, is noteworthy. Both temples are now protected monuments, adding to the site's historical and cultural significance.

Very Ancient temple. I was surprised upon entering the Parvathy shrine Adobe as it was very silent and there is a peculiar smell that can be defined as Divine. The premises is well maintained and the vicinity is full of small lush green meadows. It need certain amount of strain driving through all the Mine roads

Both are very ancient temples (8th- 10th century) constructed out of red stone.This is a very ancient shrine of Subrahmanya who is consecrated here as a bachelor.

hi Guys, Visited this on of the oldest temple, still there not using power in side the temple, nice place photo video not allowed in the temple, very good enivronment. do visite Observation:- 1. very clean 2. parking area is big 3. wash rooms are clen 4. while going be carefull of vehicles i,e truck. becuse its mining area Save water, Save soil and Save future

Sudden plan always works we made a sudden plan on the occasion of nagpanchami to visit shri kumarswamy templ after visiting it was really peace, lots of Positivity, awsm ancient architect and a very powerfull pilgrim of Lord kumarswamy and his morther devi parvati side by side and behind the kumarswamy temple supreme Lord shivas small temple was beautifully placed giving the message that a father is always stands behind to support his child and protect his family and just front left side of kumarswamy temple a nagdev is there which is very beautifully structured on a rock and outside the temple we have seen very different tipe of shivling and a very beautiful losrd vishnu temple and a small pond
