Ancient 12 century Mahadev Kedareshwar temple is having mind-blowing architecture. Almost 70 kms from Shivmoga situated in Billagavi on the road side. Very peaceful calm and spiritual atmosphere in the temple. Very few people remain in temple. Suggested to visit and feel blessed at this temple. This temple is also known as Kedarnath of South.
A must watch temple. It's built 800 years ago and is in best condition under ASI. It's easily visible while driving and so take a break and carefully observe amazing architectural marvel. No crowd when i visited. You can enjoy peace and aura in this temple and spend as much time as you wish.

Built in 12th century CE by the Chalukyas in the Hoysala style, this triple celled temple is a remarkable gem in Northern Karnataka. An open air museum next door provides great space to display the innumerable hero stones and Saptamatrika stones found during the restoration days. The closed door museum was surprisingly closed during the early noon of a weekend with no signages to point about opening and closing hours. The lawns and premises are well maintained and ASI funds are possibly coming through due to higher footfall and ease of reaching this location. Parking is right along the state highway and at your own risk. Worth enjoying the polished pillars, mahamandap and sabhamandap with the magical sculpture of Nandi.
Never imagined such an ancient Temple with such beautiful carvings . Very cool inside. The bull is a monolithic Rock sculpture. The teeth, nose, bells etc on the bull are carefully carved. They pillars take you back to the ancient civilization. But seems like some people have damaged them by trying to carve their own names. Temple is beautiful from outside too. Big area to go around. Carvings on the Gopuras are simply breathtaking. Houses a small museum too.
