Shri Kedareshwara Swamy Temple (Halebidu) - Featured Reviews (639)
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Kedareshwara Temple in Halebidu, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. Located just 750m away from the Halebidu Archaeological Site, this Mahadeva temple is a true hidden gem. One thing that struck me about this temple is its size. It may not be as grand as some of the other temples in the region, but it certainly holds its own charm. Surprisingly, not many people are aware of this beautiful temple, mainly because it's not well-marked on the road. This lack of crowds adds to the peaceful and serene ambiance, allowing visitors to explore and appreciate the temple at their own pace.
Amazing temple. Built during Hoyasala era. Most of the tourists visit to Halebeedu Hoysaleshwara temple, never visit this. This is just one km away from Halebeedu main temple. Just like other Hoyasala temples, this one is also highly decorated with beautiful stone sculptures. However most of the time the temple reiams closed. We can get inside the premises enjoy the outer scluptures on outer walls.
Shree Halebeedu Kedareshwar temple in Hassan district in Karnataka is very beautiful and ancient temple in South India. The temple was built during Hoysala dynasty in 11 th century. Very detailed and attractive sclputures are carved here manually. Entire area is under the surveillance of India Archaeological Survey. The main idol of Shree Kedareshwar is very big and nice. There is also a very big bull called Nandi. A very huge Ganesha statue is also outside the temple. Do visit and feel proud that our ancestors were so clever in that era.
1. Kedareshwara Temple (also spelt "Kedaresvara" or "Kedareshvara") is a Hoysala era construction in the historically important town of Halebidu, in the Hassan district of Karnataka state, India. It is located a short distance away from the famous Hoysaleswara Temple. The temple was constructed by Hoysala King Veera Ballala II (r. 1173-1220 A.D.) and his Queen Ketaladevi, and the main deity is Ishwara (another name for the Hindu god Shiva). 2. You can visit all the three temples(hoysaleswara,Jain, kedareshwara)in halebidu in a single trip which are very nearby. 3. The temple is not at all crowded and it is very peaceful and calm. 4. Birds chirping sounds and agriculture farms around the temple feels relaxing.
Amazing architecture that is fascinating and unbelievable. Only parking ticket and no entry ticket for the temple. Local people trying to sell maps and miniatures. Don't try to fall for their scam.

This temple is about 750m from the Halebidu Archaelogical Site. It is a Mahadeva temple. It is small and since it's not marked well on the road most people do not know about this beautiful temple and hence it is not much crowded. The temple was built in 1219 A.D. Caution to visitors: when it gets hot it's difficult to walk since there is no carpet or white strip. The road is a dead end and there is sufficient place to park.
