Garud govind ji temple is situated in Chhatikara near vrindavan Very much older temple having kund in its premises. You'll get peace and calmness there. It is said person will not suffer from any kind of problems with snake if it visit the temple once... Overall a nice temple and best experience..

Happy Akshaya Tritya from Chhatikara, Shri Garuda Govinda ji mandir. Today in the most auspicious day His merciful darshan. This temple situated in place of Krishna lila. Right here was temporary camp of Nanda Maharaja (their living place after Gokula). Krishna enjoyed here with friends and played in 12 armed Vishnu Govinda, and Shridam Sakha played Garuda (he's Garuda in Vaikunth lila). Also this is the place of Gautam Rishi ashram (and his descendants still serving here). "This location is also connected with Lord Rama's pastimes. When the serpents released by Meghanatha bound Sri Ramacandra in their coils, He became helpless. Hearing of this from Devarsi Narada, Garuda came to the rescue. As soon as the serpents saw Garuda, they released Sri Ramacandra and fled. This incident left Garuda doubtful as to whether Sri Rama was in fact Bhagavan, the Supreme Lord, but by associating with Mahatma Kakabhusundi and by receiving darsana of Sri Krsna at the time of Krsna's pastimes, this delusion was removed. At that time, Sri Krsna climbed upon his back and assured him that He was indeed the Supreme Lord.
