My rating doesn't matter... It's the dream temple for every Hindu. The architecture of this temple corridor and the deep carvings inside the temple are mesmerising. Photography is prohibited but the images that anyone captures through their eyes are truly worth the visit. It's an auspiciously ancient temple and every Indian must be proud of having this heritage. Mostly remains crowded all day as it's very popular. Plan with ample time in hand so that you can see and enjoy this structural Marvel. There are few locker rooms outside. No mobiles are allowed inside. Some fools do take it by hiding in clothes but I won't suggest it. Please follow the rules and keep this place clean. The 1212 pillars of this temple and the way they meet at the center of a zero end point (an illusive infinity point) is mind-blowing...no other place in the world can offer that..hats off to our ancient builders and architects who created these wonders without any modern day equipments.

Rameshwaram Jyotirling Mandir as it is known to every Hindu is devoted to the Devon ke Dev Mahadev and the Jyotirling here is established by lord Ram in Treta Yug while the was about to start his battle with king of Lanka Rawan. Hence this temple has a very important place in hindu devotees in terms of historical as well as devotional. Temple is at walking distance from the Rameswaram railway station. But from Rameshwaram bus stand you need to hire autos, they will charge around Rs100/-minimum. Before going for darshanam you can take bath in Sea at Agnitirtham. No bags and mobiles are allowed inside the temple premises hence locker or clock rooms are available outside the temple premises. Huge crowd can be seen for Darshanam. VIP darshan culture is also followed here. Charges for shigra & atishigra queues are Rs100/- & Rs150/- respectively. Otherwise free Darshanam wait time is around 1 or 2 hour. This temple is situated near the Arabic Sea. This temple is constructed in south Indian architecture. Temple has largest corridor with more than 1200 pillars in that corridor which attracts your attention. Visited this temple in mid September month, New construction is going on here at many parts of the temple. Government of India and Tamil Nadu needs to take good care of this major devotional temple of India. Rameshwaram town is majorly populated with Muslims people. Hence their is a point in temple after that non Hindus are not allowed to enter.

The temple of condition in Tamilnadu is getting worse after visiting Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga I realised that. The govt the people need to act for preserving this jyotirlinga else in very less time it is not going to be there. There is no maintenance at all.

Ramanathaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located on Rameswaram island, Tamil Nadu. It is also one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples in India. The temple has the longest corridor among all Hindu temples in India. Per Mythology, the presiding deity, the Lingam of Ramanathaswamy (Shiva), was established and worshiped by Lord Rama, before He crossed the bridge to the present-day island of Sri Lanka. The temple in its current form is believed to have been built during the 17th century. There are sixty-four Tirthas (holy water bodies) in and around the island of Rameswaram. Bathing in these Tirthas is a major aspect of the pilgrimage to Rameswaram. Twenty-two of the Tirthas are within the Ramanathaswamy Temple. These 22 theerthams represent the 22 arrows in Lord Rama's quiver. It is believed that pilgrims follow the below sequence when visiting Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram: 1. Take bath in the sea, which is about 500 meters away from the temple 2. Enter the temple from North gate for 22 theertham bathing; once done exit from South Gate (Ticket price - Rs. 25) 3. Enter the temple from East gate for deity darshan (Ticket prices: Free - Regular darshan, Rs. 100 - Special darshan and Rs. 200 - Quick darshan) Note - Mobile phones are not permitted inside the temple premises; Use locker facility to keep phones and belongings. Ramanathaswamy Temple is located about 2.5 kms away from Rameshwaram Bus Stand. One can use bus, cab or autorickshaw facilities to commute.

This place is amazing.this is one of 12th jyotirlinga. You can make a stay for 2 days in rameshwaram. The temple is very beautiful from inside. There 21 kunds you can take bath by paying 25 rs. Per person. Blessed to witness this place.i would totally recommend to visit this place at least 1 time in a lifetime . I went on weekdays so i didn't have to stand in queue for a long time. As instructed phones are not allowed but there wasn't any checking when i went there.but avoid going with the phone inside as one will enjoy the moment.

I have no words to say this temple structure and it's beauty,When I went there, I didn't feel like coming back, as if some supernatural power was stopping me, when I went there, I forgot all the good and bad things, I felt like I had come to some other world.
