It is one of the oldest temples in Alibaug which is situated in the Chaul region near Revdanda village. The Chaul region is famous for its temples. There are around 365 temples in Chaul which are equal to the number of days in a year. The temple is built in the Hemadpant style of architecture which consists of a sabha mandap, sanctum sanctorum, and Gopuram. The architecture of this temple is designed in such a beautiful way so you will feel like you shouldn't miss the chance to get inside the temple while passing by this area. There is a main temple of Lord Shiva which has the beautiful holy idol of Shiva. There are some rules/restrictions to enter inside the main sanctum. The temple premises have many small temples of other Gods such as Lord Ganesha, lord Vishnu, Vitthal Rakhumai, etc. I personally loved the temple of Vitthal Rakhumai. There are 3 beautiful huge 'Kundas'(water tanks) which are named ad Parjanya Kund, Agni Kund, and Vayu Kund and are located just outside the temple. Pola festival and 10 days of Genesh Chaturthi festival are the main festivals celebrated in this temple.
One of the oldest temples of mahakal mahadev , situated in choul revdanda . In the entry first there is ganesh temple then before visiting the temple clean your legs and hands outside of the temple. On the other side there is a vitthal rakhumai temple and also ganesh statue. Parking available outside of the temple. For four wheeler you have to park on road side. You can go for swimming also . Must visit for the amazing structure of this temple
The temple situated near Revdanda fort and just beside the main road. From alibaug it's around 16km. It very neat and clean temple and also atmosphere is very good. The design of temple is very attractive.there is bramha kund also and looks amazing. Must visit place if you are on alibaug tour
Nice temple situated in Revdanda... Also There is an old structure of old Rameshwar Temple situated on the backside of the current temple... A big pond or stepwell is situated in front of the temple.. Enjoy
