The Marble Pavilions, locally known as Baradari, were erected by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in AD 1637 over a large embankment of Anasagar Bund of Arnoraja (AD 1135-50), the grandfather of Prithviraj Chauhan. There are five pavilions and a hamam (royal bath). The third pavilion is the largest and built on the pattern of diwan-e-khas (private audience hall) in Red Fort, Delhi. The ground below the embankment known as Daulat Bagh lay out by Jahangir (AD 1605-28) which formed a royal pleasure garden of the Mughal emperors. During British time, these pavilions were used as dwelling house of the Commissioner of Ajmer and his officers with additions and alterations. These structures were restored in its original condition by dismantling and removing the additional constructions, etc.
Open from 5 A.M to 6 P.M, the key to enjoying this enclosed park is coming here as early as possible which I was unable to do. Located on the road going from Ajmer towards Pushkar, it's a paid entry only. Still there was such a nasty crowd by the time I reached, shouting and screaming and not enjoying just a locale. The gardens were laid down by Jehangir and the marble pavillion's by Shah Jehan. Mostly flat this area can be accessed by persons of reduced mobility with relative ease.
Its called a ana sagar lake. Amazing view in ajmer.If you go there feel fresh. 50rs ticket for indian.
Sorry but too much dirty. Can h imagine I saw the board of Indian archeological survey but found that people are peeing in the open near the baradari introduction stone. The garden was I'll maintained n the platforms were totally dirty coz of spitting. The weather was fantastic today except it, nothing was good.
Love it...!! Just love it...!! I recommend everyone at least visit once in this place if you are visiting to Rajasthan. Trust me I have never expected such a beautiful experience like this.
Nice place to hang out with a sense of history. However, marred by scrappy beggars and eunachs who will keep bothering you. A wee bit dirty also.
