Navadurga is the Kuladevta (family deity) of many Gaud Saraswat Brahmins (GSB's) and Daivadnya Brahmins in India located in Goa & Maharashtra. The magnificent temple located in Madkai, is famous for its Navadurga having a tilted head. The first jatra or pilgrimage festival happens in this particular temple, honouring Goddess Navdurga, followed by the other temples throughout Goa. The zatra is like no other, and people from all over Goa attend it, to get blessings.

Beautiful temple of Shri Navadurga ,who is kuldevi of Gaud saraswat brahmins with surname of Kamat,Kamath,Timblo,Bhamy Shenoy. However from last decade some goons have forcibly overtaken temple management, please be careful while dealing financially with the elements writing receipts in temple,they may not be genuine

Visited my Kuladevasthan - Shree Navadurga at Madkai to see the blessings of the Goddess. Felt such a divine feeling as soon as I entered the Temple premises.

Its a very beautifully sculptured, big garbage grah mandir of Devi Durga. The idol is present inside five gates, three being the garbh where normal people ara not allowed. Its a very far away mandir in a very scenic locality. Its 11km from Queeny Nagar and one can enjoy free ferry ride to madkai. Overall one enjoys the journey.
