It's the holy historic temple of santan Heritage, devotees come to offer parikarma of this place to get the blessings of goverdhan maharaj, total parikarma of 21 kilometres is divided in two part badi parikarma of 11 kilometres and choti parikarma of 10kms, now this is upto you and your physical health that how you want to do the parikarma, some do it in parts, some do it completely, if u are not fit enough than you have options of battery rickshaw too. A most sacred place to worship lord giriraj ji, who lifted the mountain to save the villagers back then as mentioned per mythological scriptures when lord Indra did the excessive rains out of anger. One must visit the temple to offer prayers to the deity for good health and harmony. Note: rickshaws are easily available to commute, avoid taking hand baggage, shoes ideally be kept at your place to avoid getting them misplaced. The parikrama is 21 km long across the village. Parikrama: Preferably wear shoes to do parikrama if you cannot take additional rest for 2-3days and have to go to the office or other business chores. Else doing it bare foot ur leg specifically the lower part will have a lot of pain which will gradually fade out in 2-3 days. Best time is to do it in night to avoid heat. Further the period to do this parikrama is from gyaras 11th days as per Hindi calender till poornima, max crowd come for a day only to do parikrama and next day or same day back to home. The nearest railway station is Mathura junction from there it's around 20km for which conveyance is easily available. Avoid taking anything extra during parikrama, as it progresses half way thru u will feel the tiredness.

This is the beginning of the parikrama of Goverdhan Parvat. We did not do the Parikrama but visited Giriraj Ji for blessing and a glimpse of the parvat. It's in a traffic prone road.

A very nice and peaceful place.. specially today as there is a goverdhan Pooja today.....but be aware of pujari and pandit here...they can trick you to pay for Prasad and deepdan..which is actually not true.

The parikrama starts from here, the puja continues from the start of the parikrama, then even after the parikrama is over, we go for darshan and when the parikrama is completed, milk is offered here.

With the increasing tourist importance of the place, commercial interests are on the rise and at times conflict with religious worship.
