Shree Ganesha Palace - Hotel in Varanasi - Varanasi, India

Visited Varanasi during Dev Deepavali, at a high peak of pilgrims coming to the city that is already crowded and noisy. We had a great experience with our stay at this hotel, staff is accommodating and welcoming. Special kudos to Suhail from the restaurant staff who even tried to remember our individual food preferences from one day to the other. He was always there with us, making sure we had all what we needed. Such a blessed vacation.

Room is average but the location is perfect and staffs are polite. We arrived at hotel almost 3 hours before check-in time and staff members helped us arrange for makeshift room for our refreshments so that we could start early for the temple visit with rooms being unavailable.

Great place to stay. Hotel is at walkable distance from Kashi temple and Dashaswamedh Ghat. Neat and clean rooms. hotel restaurant 1916 cafe is also good. Hotel staff is great. Special Thanks to Shalini and Anjali from staff who helped me get my item back which I forgot in the hotel while checking out.

It was fantastic staying in Shree Ganesha Palace in Varanasi Location is perfect. Walking distance from Temple. Food was best quality. Staff is very helpful. Rooms are quite big than others and clean fresh and well equipped Overall gr8 stay. One can definitely go for it

Can't recommend this place enough. It's bang right in the middle of the action but yet the situation of the hotel protects you from the noise. Room was very clean and very comfortable. There's a really good restaurant on site. The people who work here are marvellous. Sonu. Suhal.. The owner himself whose name I can't remember. We had a couple of unusual requests during our stay and they all went out of their way to help us, Even driving off on scooters to help us get stuff we needed. Absolutely incredible service.

Good budget friendly place at a good location. Staffs are also good, clean rooms and they keep all basic amenities in room, but twin bed rooms have no chair. Also rooms are bit small. Some rooms don't have geyser although they switch on the geyser but hot water does not come easily. Restaurant is very unique and good range of food, but service is slow, although the service staffs try their best. Breakfast range is decent. Food at restaurant is also very good. Best part, it's just near to Girija Ghar chouraha so you get rickshaw or e- rickshaw easily.

I booked Shree Ganesh Palace Hotel for a 3-day family trip to Varanasi. I was accompanied by my elderly grandmother, who had accessibility issues. I am inclined to give the hotel a 2/5 rating, and I am being generous with my rating. I will break down my review into pros and cons. We booked two rooms, a premium deluxe room, and one premium deluxe twin room. Pros: 1) The rooms were clean. So, if you are concerned about cleanliness, this hotel will not disappoint you on that front. A few toiletries (tissues) were missing, and hand soap was not replaced after housekeeping. (8/10) 2) The staff was extremely polite and prompt. We had no complaints with the staff handling housekeeping, room service, and the in-house restaurant. I would like to particularly mention the staff of the restaurant; everyone was cordial and welcoming. Perfect score for hospitality. (10/10) 3) The food in the in-house restaurant was great and tasty. Though the service was a bit on the slower side, as mentioned above, it can be compensated by the quality of the food and the excellent service. (10/10). 4) We had requested arranging a city tour and a Ganga arti evening boat ride. These were very well done. A miscommunication with the room numbers was promptly sorted by the front desk. The driver accompanying us on the city tour was also professional and provided excellent service (10/10). Now, time to list the cons. Cons: 1) A day before arriving in Varanasi, we were assured that both of our rooms would be adjacent to each other. However, on our arrival, we were told that both of our rooms were on different floors. We were not informed that a room was available the following day on the same floor. We had to ask multiple times before they accommodated our request. (2/10) 2) The contents of the fridge are chargeable. This was not informed to us during check-in, nor was it mentioned anywhere in the room. On pointing out the absurdity of the surcharge, the front desk showed us a line mentioning the extra charges on the second page of a 4-page document that we were supposed to read during our family trip. I have stayed in hotels ranging from 2 stars to 7 stars in many different countries, and I have never been asked to familiarize myself with a 4-page document during check-in. The management could easily add this clause on the fridge or somewhere visible in the room. Keeping it hidden within the 2nd page of the 4-page document indicates ill intentions. (0/10) 3) Our flight was scheduled for later in the evening, so we requested a late check-out for one of the rooms. We had 3 senior citizens, and my grandmother had accessibility issues. We wanted to leave for the airport at 4 pm, so we requested to stay in the room until at least 3 pm. The manager and the front desk refused to accept our request, instead they demanded half-day charges. The manager initially asked for 2500 INR and later changed it to 2000 INR for allowing us to stay for an extra 4 hours. Again, this is the first time I have witnessed this. Extra charges are expected, and hotels generally charge a minimal amount if the room is not booked afterwards. The rude manager refused to acknowledge this basic service. Additionally, this 2000rs was taken as cash, which was surprising. The hospitality of the staff is marred by the incompetent manager and possibly the higher management. (0/10) 4) We had requested a drop-off to the airport, and the manager had assured us that we would get a bigger car as we were 4 people with 3 luggage. However, amidst all the issues with minibar surcharges and exorbitant extended check-out timing charges, we had to travel to the airport with a big suitcase on my lap and my aged family members cramped up in the passenger's seat. The driver was cordial though. (1/10) So, when adding up the entire experience, we get: ~ 1/5 Will I recommend this place? No. The place is clean, but not worth the hefty charge it demands. The management is appalling, and the front desk is disappointing. Personally, I would not book this place again.

Rooms are good but no space for proper parking. Situated in busiest area of varanasi makes it difficult to travel by 4 wheeler.
