The temple is about 6 km from Kumbala Junction in National highway 66 in Kasaragod district. The temple is built in a pond, there lived a vegetarian crocodile named Babia, which died in 2022. there is also a cave in the water which is said to be leading towards Sree padmanabha temple Trivandrum, also this temple is the Moola sthana of Sri Padmanabha Temple. the temple is very beautiful, located in a calm and less busy area, surrounded by small water bodies and trees. Temple architecture in which temple is built in a pond is the major attraction here. there is enough parking space available, busses are also available directly to the temple from Kumbala.

A peaceful, serene and well kept temple. It's situated in a lake which really adds to it's beauty. The presiding deity is Shri Vishnu flanked by Shreedevi and Bhoodevi. You can see these three idols. This is supposed to be the moolsthana (starting place) of the Shri Anatha Padmanabha Swami temple in Trivandrum. Anna daanam is at noon. The vegetarian crocodile which used to live in the lake passed away.

Shree Ananthapadmanabha Swamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his form of Anantha Padmanabha, the one who reclines on the serpent Ananta. The temple is located inside the East Fort in the heart of the city. The temple is considered to be one of the 108 holy temples of Lord Vishnu, and one of the world's richest temples. The name of the city of 'Thiruvananthapuram' in Malayalam and Tamil translates to "The City of Ananta". The temple is built in an intricate fusion of the Kerala style and the Dravidian style of architecture, featuring high walls, and a 16th-century gopura (ornate entrance gate). The temple has a long history, and its hidden treasure has piqued people from time to time. As per popular beliefs, it was established about 5000 years ago by sage Divakara Muni Vilwamangalam, who found Lord Vishnu in a cave near a mahua tree. The main sanctum has an idol of Lord Anantha Padmanabha made of 12,000 saligramams (sacred stones) from Nepal, covered with gold and precious stones. The idol is about 18 feet long and can be seen through three doors. The temple also has shrines for Lord Narasimha, Lord Krishna, Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. - The temple is open from 3:15 AM to 12:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:20 PM on all days. - The entry is free, but you have to follow a strict dress code. Men have to wear dhoti or mundu without any upper garment. Women have to wear sari, mundum neriyathum, skirt and blouse or half sari.

Very sacred place. Ancient temple in the middle of a pond in which a crocodile resides. Lord Anantha Padmanabha swamy is believed to have moved from here to Thiruvananthapuram. The idol of the Deity is made from kadusharkara paka, which is very rare.
