It is located inside of the Sonajhuri Jungle..it is a market with different items and food..Please visit between 11 AM to 4 PM..They have different sculpture, Art, Clothes and Hand craft items..They also have live performance and different street artist. Lots of Sellers and customers gather there with their Items and Shopping. Handicrafts, Garments, Wooden items available there. Huge crowded place. Car parking is also available just beside the road. It's mainly known as Sonajhuri haat as the place is a Sonajhuri tree forest mainly. Haat or the market takes place mainly on Saturday and Sunday. Local vendors sell handmade clothes, jewellery, food etc in the market.

"Sonibaar-er-haat" in Bolpur is quaint that was started to promote rural artisan, baul song and tribal dance of the region. Haat is an open to sky rural artisan market. 'Sonajhuri haat' of Shantiniketan, is a very prominent and well-liked in West Bengal. It is weekly market and held only in Saturday. The haat is organized inside 'Sonajhuri' forest. The name Sonajhuri is given by noble laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The original name of the tree is Acacia auriculiformis. It is also commonly known as auri, earleaf acacia, earpod wattle, northern black wattle, Papuan wattle, and tan wattle. In Bengal, it is known as 'Akashmoni.'

One of the main attraction of Bolpur Shantiniketan is Sonajhurir Haat where we find that ancient bengali folk culture...songs,dance,crafts, Kantha Stitch etc...As Villagers bring them direct from producers, selling price comprises very low profit margins. And the most notable news is Shonibarer Hat is now converted to everyday Haat,as I've seen it on a Tuesday in May,2023. Though the number of stalls and crowd is lesser but it's quite good for the buyers who love to bargain.

Visitors should visit this place who are visiting to Shantiniketan. The haat is open throughout the week I.e. every day from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M Some more shops are available in Saturdays only. I will suggest not to visit in Summer, it is better and comfortable to visit in Winter. Car parking inside haat area is very much disturbing. There is some street food shop and a good quality restaurant inside a hotel in the area of the haat are available. Nature inside haat is very beautiful. Bargaining is must in the haat.
