I recently had the pleasure of visiting Shivneri Fort with my family, and I must say it was an incredible experience. The fort holds immense historical importance and stands as a testament to our rich heritage. The well-preserved architecture and surroundings were truly captivating. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the fort is well-maintained and kept impeccably clean. The pathways were clear, and the cleanliness added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. Exploring the different sections of the fort was a delight, each revealing a unique aspect of its history. The panoramic views from the fort were breathtaking, allowing us to connect with nature and marvel at the surrounding landscapes. Shivneri fort is birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Situated near Junnar, Pune. It is pleasant to go in rainy ways to view the green magic of nature. It is a well kept sculpture which reminds the history. Must visit everyone.

Shivneri fort holds great historical importance as this was the birth place of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This fort is ideal for a one day trip . There is a new modification like plantation, gardening is to be done on fort.so now the fort is having a very nice greenary. There are 7 doors which one needs to cross to get to the top of the fort. There is lot to be explored at Shivneri and is ideal for people who love historical places. How to reach: Shivneri Fort is located approximately 108 kilometres from Pune. One has to head towards Junnar village from Pune. If you have your own vehicle, you can drive till the foothils of the fort where your vehicles can be parked. Folks travelling by public transport will need to walk for about 2 kms from Junnar to get to the base fo the fort. What to see at Shivneri: There is plenty of sightseeing that can be done on the fort. Shivai Temple - Temple of goddess Shivai after whom Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was named. Kadelot - Kadelot is a point on the fort from where criminals were thrown off the fort as a punishment. Ambarkhana - This was used as a food storage. It was not just a small storage area, but a pretty large storage where grains could be stored for more than a year. Ganga and Jamuna - Water Springs on the fort. the water of both tank is always cold in any season. Statue of Jijabai and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Badami Talav - A huge water reservoir on the fort. Visited in Nov to Shivneri Fort on weekend. Cannot say it's full pack but yes crowd was there but no rush. Car parking at on the way on one side of road and if you lucky you may get parking nearby entry. It was 3.5 kilometres walk to the fort with half climbing stairs and half was walking on machi to reach the place. Not much to see beside Chatrapati Shiwaji Maharaj birth place, Jijau smarak. You can sit in garden and enjoy meal. Drinking water is available on top. There is no food stall available when you left entry point. Only entry point have food stall but limited.

One of the best and important historical place to visit. The trek to the Shivneri fort provides a sense of adventure with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. As it is the birth place of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, it is always crowded by history enthusiasts and nature lovers.

As we all already study about this great place in our history book, then also visit once to see great chattrapati shivaji maharaj born place is really privilege to me. This is great place for history lover.. but there is too many things which are destroyed but gov well preseved .. and there is no charge except parking charge.. so enjoy

Its birth place of great Indian King Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It was very nice experience everyone should visit at least once in life. Atmosphere is nice there.

I recently visited Shivneri Fort, and overall, the fort is well maintained and in good condition. However, there are a few areas that are still under development and need to be finished to ensure ease of trekking for the elderly. While the fort is under maintenance, I observed some aspects that were not up to the mark. The washrooms were in a very filthy state, which was disappointing. Additionally, the drinking water areas had fungus around the tanks, raising concerns about hygiene. I also noticed that some visitors were littering on the pathways and throwing trash around trash cans instead of disposing of it properly. Furthermore, I observed elderly individuals struggling to trek at certain areas that lacked proper support or railing. Providing more support around these areas would be beneficial for the elderly and other visitors. Despite these issues, Shivneri Fort holds historical significance and offers a scenic trekking experience. I hope that the authorities will address the cleanliness and safety concerns to make the visit even more enjoyable for all visitors.
