We went late in t night at closing time and was lucky enough to see the last pooja of the day. Temple is beautiful ... very nice visit . Recommend to visit the temple much before closing time which is 8pm.
The temple is dedicated to Lord Virupaksha, a form of Shiva. It is made from black stone and it is one of the biggest shiv linga in hampi. Usually you can book a tour cab or taxi . They'll take you to the temple along with other heritage sites nearby. There is no entry fee. Opened on weekdays as well as weekends. If you visit hampi,then this is a go to place. Highly recommended.
