Visited this Holy place on 6th March 2023. It is also called Choti Kashi. The story of Gokaran Nath is same as Vaidyanath. It is the belief of the people that Lord Shiva was pleased with the penance (Tapasya) of Ravana (King of Lanka) and offered him a boon. Rawana requested the Lord Shiva to go to Lanka with him and leave there forever. The Lord Shiva agreed to go on condition that he should not be placed anywhere on the way to Lanka. If he were placed anywhere, he would settle at that place. Shiv gave him one of the twelve Jyotirlingams. Rawana agreed and started his journey to Lanka with the Lord on his head. When Rawana reached the Gola Gokaran Nath (then called Gollihara) he felt the need to urinate (a call of nature). Rawana offered some gold coins to a shepherd (who was none other than Lord Ganesha sent by deities) for placing the Lord Shiva on his head until he returned. The shepherd (Lord Ganesha) placed him on the land. Rawana failed to lift him up despite all his efforts. He pressed him on his head with his thumb in full anger. The impression of Rawana's thumb is still present on the Shivling. Because of that the Shivling became like a Cow's Ear (gokrnn)and mounted around 5 feet below from the ground level. The importance of Gokarnnath dham increases during the month of Shrawan. Must visit this place once in life. Har Har Mahadev
This is a Shiv temple and due to this, Gola is also known as Choti Kashi.
During savan months, it is very much crowded.
The statue of Shiv ji in a holy pond is very beautiful.
But the pond is not cleaned every day or every week.
You can enjoy boating here or you can also take bath.
Hi friends,
This places is related to lord Shiva and located in Lakhimpur khiri district. People and devotees comes here throughout the year from many places of the nation. But in the month sawan ( during july-august), there are alarge number of people come here to worship Lord shiva. Mostly people came here by walking with 'kanwar' in which devotees use holy Ganga water from many holy Ganges ghats like farrukhabad, Haridwar, Gomukh etc. There is a big statue of Lord Shiva also installed outside the temple which is also a tourist attraction. This place is worth visiting. People can come here any time in whole year, but it would be better to visit except Monday in july-august because of heavy rush in this temple and it can be take time more than 6 hours in queue. This place has no railway station but it's well connected from Lakhimpur district and Shahajahanpur district via bus facility. Shahjahanpur is better for them who came here from Lucknow or Delhi side, it's 60 km away from SHAHJAHANPUR.

It's a very holy temple of Lord Shiva. There is the Shivling of Tretayug. This is that Shivling which Ravana was carrying to his Lanka by that nobody can defeat him. But due to a cowherd he was unable to carry it. So he pushed it in the earth by his thumb, that's mark is still visible in the Shivling. In the month of Shrawan a lot of people come here from whole state with kanwar. There is a fair all over the month. It has the holy pond in which people take bath. It is just 500 mt away from railway station Gola. Gola is famous only for this. After the worshipping here people have to worship Bhutnath baba. Which is 2 kilometres away from the temple. Many people get the employment here specially in the month of Shrawan.
The place is good bit it needs more cleanings. I don't know why people throw garage in holy places or near by temples. Government and local authority should take strict action against people who throw garbage or makes place dirty.
Amazing place .... Needs some cleanliness...but it is peaceful... Beware of local pooja and pandits .... They will ask for a donation (volunteer) for everything, even for a teeka... (This Practice should stop)
This is the place of Lord Shiva and there is great peace here.
