Sher Shah Suri Tomb - Bharat - Historical landmark in Sasaram - Rohtas, India

Excellent mausoleum - simple and yet so elegant and it's beauty enhanced by its setting amidst a large lake. A hidden gem in the memory of one of India's ablest rulers with a high track record for public services. The adjacent Archaeological Survey of India has a ticket counter, an often neglected book store which has some extremely cheap books on some very important sites (but sadly not one on Sher Shah's tomb) with lot of information and colour photographs. There's also a toilet and a cafeteria that was closed.

Very impressive monument. Recommended to visit early so you can enjoy yourself and click pictures with any background disturbance. Lake around it was very nice . It also contains fish . The garden around it and the greenery was worth watching in drizzling rain. Rain made our experience better but obviously drizzle of rain not heavy rain. Recommended.

Very beautiful and very well maintained place. The water was free from garbages which we normally dont see in such places. Very quite and clean place. Hopefully they maintain it like this. Recently G20 summit was held here.

The tomb is made in the memory of Emperor Sher Sha Suri. It is a historical place and major tourist attraction of Sasaram. Perfect example of marvelous architecture. This monument has been declared as national importance. The main tomb is built on octagonal plan, topped by a dome, surrounded ornamental domed. The lake surrounding the tomb enhances it's beauty to another level. The architecture is inspired by Afghan. It is a must visit place of Sasaram. Entry fee - Rs 25/-. Additional charges are applicable for camera.

It is a beautiful place. A tomb situated in the middle of lake. Surround by beautiful trees. Can go for a quick visit if you are around this region.
