Decent Pure Veg Restaurant in Matheran with economical pricing.
We visited Shelar Uphar Gruha in June 2023 and here is our review:
1. Location: It is located right in the market and hence one of the most preferred restaurants for breakfast and snacks in Matheran.
2. The Menu: The items available on the Menu were limited during our visit. While we visited, Vada Pav, Misal Pav, Maggi and Chai were the only available items in Breakfast at 11.30 am. Poha, Upma, Idli Sambhar and other south indian items are available early in the morning. This was a little bit dissappointing but this may be due to a weekday.
3. Timing: It is one of the few hotels that open early in the morning. Snacks items are available from 7.30 am. Ketkar is the other restaurant that opens early.
4. Food Taste: The Misal had more dalchini which felt different and hence I wouldn't recommend it. Other than that, the Vada Pav and Chai were good.
5. Cleanliness and Service: The hotel is well maintained and the cleanliness is very good. The service is quick and satisfactory. One complaint I had is that they did not have spoons to give in parcel orders and atleast wooden spoons should be available. I had to cancel orders due to unavailability of spoons.

Best Place to have breakfast and snacks. Place is small you may have to wait for 5-10 mins but it's worth waiting. Food is freshly made and tasty too. Try their Misal Pav.. one of the best in matheran. Vada usal, vadapav, dosa also good. Overall nice place.
Food is decent and price is reasonable. Perfect place to eat something after arriving in Matheran.
Recently, we went in the matheran and naraby to the matheran railway station we have explored this hotel named as "Shelar Uphar Gruh". This place has very nice paavbhaji,misal paav and pohe which we tried. The place is a little small compared to the huge daily crowd. We needed to wait a little bit longer due to the crowd. Hot and freshly made food is served over here. The prices of dishes are affordable. The tea is also nice.The only thing on which they will work is the mosquitoes, as while eating there are a lot of mosquitoes biting me and it's not at all manageble. Rest all OK.

Good and testy for breakfast, recommending South Indian dishes and misal pav.
We eat misal pav at Shelar wrost quality he will give u more chivda in misal and misal was less no cleanliness all dirt the table was my after eating my stomach was paining so better avoid Shelar eat from Alankar the best hotel to eat chutiya hotel Shelar

It is so delicious you confuse it with well-cooked home food. Sumptuous meal served with absolute love and devotion. You fail to notice the surrounding. The food is so captivating and mesmerizing.
Masha Allah very nice place, There service is just awsome. Go for it if you are with familly. Very safe place to stay. It's like home stay.

This is a true hidden gem in Matheran. Not many people are aware of this place. A beautiful collection and stunning story telling through 3D paintings-sculpture. The ticket price is just 10rs and you can take photos/videos without any
Beside louisa point you can visit malang point. The view is very beautiful similar to louisa point mountain view but little bit different. You can click pictures good seating arrangement is there.
Great place. east side of the valley. There is a heavy breeze her with great view. Small shop is also there. Horse goes there and walking distance is easy.

Best place if you want to Trek/walk for hours. All view points are worth trekking. MUST book the hotel online before you visiting the place and visit on weekdays. Worth staying 2-3 days to cover all the view points.
