The building is in delerict condition due to fact that the last Nawab died without leaving any heirs. The place is now a bone of contention among various relatives of the Nawab. The buliding served as the main administrative complex during the reign of the Nawabs. The ruler held his court in the Sheesh Mahal. The building itself is made of bricks and mortar. No fancy stones or tiles are embedded in the walls. The Nawab of Malerkotla can be labelled "poor" while comparing with nearby states or Nabha, Patiala etc. Its not a tourist place from any angle. Its just dying its slow death with each passing second.
There is no Sheesh Mahal only ruins, Sheesh Mahal name hi hai.
Its private palace of queen of Malerkotla mostly outsider's are not allowed to visit.its old heritage building nothing so interesting
It can be the place to be visited for the tourists if it is well preserved n maintained.
It is a beautiful place to visit. Structure is old and a low on maintenance.
